FOOD AND NUTRITION: The Department of Food and Nutrition Services (FNS) is dedicated to supporting student education by promoting and encouraging healthy nutrition habits, such as increasing fruits and vegetables, including whole grains, and eating balanced meals. Free or reduced-price meals are available to students based on household size and income. Students are automatically eligible for free meals if the family receives assistance under the Food Supplement Program or Temporary Cash Assistance (TCA) benefits. The Medical Assistance Program helps individuals and families pay for medical care.
