MISSION: The mission of the English Language Development (ELD) Program is to develop staff and systems that provide high-quality ELD and academic content instruction for Multilingual Learners (MLs); to ensure Multilingual Learners’ and their families’ federal and state rights are met; and to provide MLs access to all educational opportunities.

VISION: The ELD program will prepare MLs to effectively use English language skills and academic strategies to successfully and confidently participates in all activities in the school, community, and beyond.

The ELD program provides the English language instruction required by law for identified MLs in Bladensburg High School. All ELD teachers design lessons targeting the linguistic developmet of our MLs in all language domains. The ELD program also collaborates with other content-area teachers to advocate for, administer accommodations and classroom supports, and interpret data on the linguistic needs of our students.
