MISSION: The ELD program will provide high-quality language and academic content instruction for Multilingual Learners (MLs); and to ensure MLs’ and their families’ federal and state rights are met.

VISION: The ELD program will prepare MLs to effectively use social and academic English language skills to successfully and confidently participates in all activities in the school, community, and beyond.
The ELD program is in charge of:
Providing the English language instruction required by law for identified MLs in Bladensburg High School through lessons that target linguistic development.
Developing the English Language Acquisition Plans (ELAP) outlining goals, testing accommodations, and classroom instructional supports for MLs as required by state and federal law.
Collaborating with other content-area teachers and staff to advocate for, implement ELAPs, and interpret data on the linguistic needs of our students.
Providing students and families with sessions to develop leadership, parental engagement, and cultural heritage celebrations.
