Mrs. Hoskey grew up in Montgomery County, MD and Fairfax County, VA. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Theater from Wesleyan University and received her Masters in Library and Information Science from University of Texas at Austin. She was the Eastham Public Library's first full-time Youth Services Librarian for 10 1/2 years before joining Prince George's County Public Schools, where she has been a library media specialist since 2005.

Mrs. Hoskey and her husband, also a PGCPS educator, live in College Park. They have one son, Isaac, who was a Berwyn Heights Husky, and who is now at Kenmoor Middle School, which just so happens to be Mrs. Hoskey's second school.

In her spare time, Mrs. Hoskey likes to read, watch movies or sports, visit with friends and family, go for walks, and write.
