York is considered one of the finest clubs in Maine and borders the York River with spectacular views and some of the finest greens in the state. About Mike Pratt, PGA Head Golf Professional:
Mike joined the team here at York Golf & Tennis in 2015 with experience in all facets of the game of golf. He was elevated to the Head Golf Professional in 2019 and continues to create a professional and welcoming atmosphere that exceeds the standards of York members and guests. His teaching philosophy is based on fundamentals geared toward the individual’s specific needs and capabilities. From beginner to accomplished player his mission is to help you develop a consistent and dependable golf swing and have more fun.
This position has strong growth potential for the right individual. Both Mike and Club Leadership are invested in creating a succession plan which will be discussed during the interview process.
JOB SUMMARY
Reports To: Head Golf Professional
Supervises: Golf Shop-Hourly Staff, Outside Operations
This is to be considered a seasonal opportunity with the Golf Season between April 1st and November 15th. The club is open to the candidate pursuing winter employment if they choose to do so.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Service
Provide exceptional service to our members and their guests
Communication
Maintain consistent and updated communications with the Head Golf Professional
Accurate and timely communication with the membership
Golf Shop Operations
Assist in the management of Professional Shop to include but not limited to; Merchandising, Inventory Control and transactions
Daily Pro Shop operations and reporting.
Tournament Operations
Coordinate with Tournament Lead to ensure successful events
Introduce Golf Genius to the Membership in 2023
Daily Operations
Coordinate daily play; monitoring tee sheet, starting, and pace of play
Instruction
Give Individual Lessons and Group Clinics
Assist in Junior Golf Programs
Schedule play with members when time allows
Maintain good standing with PGA and complete all necessary MSR requirements
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
The ideal candidate will be a Class A PGA Professional who has a passion for the game and business of golf.
The candidate must possess excellent interpersonal skills while being positive and outgoing.
This candidate should have a minimum of two years of experience in a private club setting.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
The Salary and benefits will be available, and commensurate with experience.
Annual Salary of $50,000-$55,000
Lesson Revenue expected to be $7,000
Bonus and Gratuity Potential of $5,000
Total Anticipated Compensation is expected to be $55,000 - $65,000
