POSITION OVERVIEW
Title: Head Golf Professional
Reports to: Director of Golf and Assistant Director of Golf
Supervises: Assistant Golf Professionals, Golf Concierge, Outside Service, Caddies
Position Description: The purpose of the Head Golf Professional is to lead the Golf Operation staff, alongside the Director of Golf and Assistant Director of Golf, in all day-to-day operations, ensuring a world-class golf experience.

Lead the Professional Golf staff in all tournament processes to ensure that each event is successfully prepared for and organized leading to an exceptional experience for our Members and their guests.
Set expectations and guide the process for completion of Tournament Operations, while effectively communicating to leadership.
Develop strong partnerships within the entire golf operation to define, develop, and modify the operation, leading to constant improvement of the overall product.
Keep up with the demand of the membership via phone, email, and face-to-face requests. Email management is very important, and it oversees all assistant's and staff’s email management.
Constantly analyze, critique, and monitor golf events throughout the year.
Work with the Director of Golf/Assistant Director of Golf to assign proper responsibilities to each staff member, reporting updates and issues to the Director of Golf/Assistant Director of Golf when necessary.
Create recommendations and implement operational improvements.
Monitor the performance of the overall daily operation; ensure the highest standards and guest satisfaction each day.
Oversee tournament operations, teaching, club fitting, pace of play, caddie program, and more to ensure total Member satisfaction each day.
Assist with the Manager on Property (MOD) program throughout the year, especially in the wintertime. Cross-trained within all departments on property. Assisting the COO/SVP in any area that needs attention in the wintertime.
Oversee all of golf’s responsibilities with Salesforce and golf concierge requests.
Assist the Director of Golf/Assistant Director of Golf in all clubhouse functions. Duties include making sure the clubhouse is up to YC’s Standards. Work with departments within the clubhouse to ensure the building runs correctly. Will work with Food and Bev, Valet, Lodge Keeping, Housekeeping, and Facilities to perform their duties for our membership.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide detailed, monthly staff schedules.
Assist the Director of Golf/Assistant Director of Golf with staff evaluations and enforcement of rules & regulations.
Manage the Assistant Golf Professional staff, ensuring all policies are kept and properly followed.
Work with the Outside Operations Lead to direct the outside operations staff and caddies to be proactive and make the operation better while they are at work; assign tasks as needed.
Recruit staff and organize training activities each season, working with the Director of Golf/Assistant Director of Golf.
Work with the Golf Shop Merchandiser to source and provide employee uniforms.
Work with the Golf Shop Merchandiser to assist in the development of standard retail operating procedures and training manuals, along with the Director of Golf/Assistant Director of Golf. And assist him/her wherever needed.
Completely understand the entire operation at Yellowstone Club as it relates to our membership and the Golf Operation.
Oversee the preparations for Golf Schools, Clinics, and Camps, working with the Director of Instruction.
Ensure all Golf Professionals are knowledgeable and capable of conducting world-class instruction, working with the Director of Golf/Assistant Director of Golf and the Director of Instruction to establish instructional standards.
Keep your personal golf game sharp.
Play with Members to encourage the growth of the golf operation and annual rounds; excite Members to use the golf facilities more regularly.
Help the Golf Shop Merchandiser evaluate and survey the market, incorporating new ideas and plans into the Golf Shop retail program.
Ability to hold staff accountable to provide world-class service.
Assist the retail shop where needed and when needed.
With the help of the Director of Golf/Assistant Director of Golf and the Golf Shop Merchandiser plan special events and promotional campaigns throughout every season to grow annual sales.
Perform all duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with established Club policies, procedures, and standards of service to achieve the overall objectives of this position.

Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Long hours may be required due to business demands.

Major Responsibilities:
Ensure that each Member and guest receives outstanding guest service in a guest-friendly environment which includes greeting and acknowledging every member and guest, maintaining outstanding service standards, solid product knowledge, and all other components of guest service.
Empowered to guarantee total guest satisfaction, display hospitality and professionalism to our guests at all times, take pride in representing Yellowstone Club professionally with our Members and guests, and ensure that all transactions with guests are handled in a legal and ethical manner.
Understand and apply all property safety and security procedures to maintain a secure and safe environment for employees, Members, and guests at all times. In the event of an accident or emergency, seek medical attention if necessary and contact the General Manager or Human Resources immediately.
Maintain a favorable working relationship with all company employees to foster and promote a positive working environment.
Oversee the management of the entire golf operation staff: Which could include the following, Golf professionals, Golf retail, Golf Concierge, Outside Service Attendants, Director of Instruction, and Caddies
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Directly supervises employees and/or supervisors; carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Club’s policies, procedures, and applicable laws; responsibilities include but are not limited to: interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.


EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Including, but not limited to, the following:
Class A Member of the PGA of America
3+ years’ experience as a First Assistant or Head Golf Professional
Teaching Experience
Detailed knowledge in all facets of the Golf Industry
Bachelor’s Degree in a related area
Experience in delivering World Class Customer Service
Experience/Education Preferred:
Former Customer Service Employment
List of previous Playing Experiences and Placement in Golf Tournaments
Additional golf-related certifications
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The club will provide compensation and benefits package commensurate with experience and qualifications. This includes but is not limited to:
Base salary range of $70,000-$85,000
Instruction income projected between $10,000-$20,000
Performance bonus projected $5,000-$7,000
Subsidized housing opportunities
PGA Dues, GBN Dues
Tournament Allowance ($1,000)
Clothing Allowance ($3,000)
Complimentary meal per day
