ABOUT WHITE BEECHES GOLF & COUNTRY CLUB
Haworth, NJ | White Beeches was born in the early 20th century, not long after the town of Haworth itself was incorporated. While the golf course existed here for several years, the club did not officially incorporate it until 1918. Two years later, the golf course was substantially overhauled and redesigned by legendary golf course architect Walter Travis. Travis is also the designer behind many notable courses including Hollywood Golf Club, Westchester Country Club, and both Jekyll Island Golf Club and Sea Island Golf Club in Georgia.
Over the last 100 years, there have been numerous accomplishments and strides made by the club and its membership. One of the most notable was Maureen Orcutt, a member of the New Jersey State Golf Association Hall of Fame. A lifelong member of White Beeches, she was the winner of 65 tournaments across seven decades.
GOLF, AMENITIES & SERVICES
When most people think of White Beeches, they think of the golf course. The course has come to be known for its layout, its pristine conditions, and especially its famed greens. The club offers golf simulators for year-round play. PGA Tour winner Jim McGovern is the head professional at White Beeches and has brought his reputation, his skill, and a strong teaching and operations staff.
WBGCC’s multi-story Clubhouse includes a formal dining room with seating for 70 inside and 35 seasonally outside, a ballroom seating 225, an outdoor bar seating 30, a seasonal pool pavilion seating 50 (350 for parties), and two banquet rooms seating 30 each. The Club has just begun construction of a new Grill room which will seat 130 indoors and increase the adjacent outdoor bar seating to 100 seats. The clubhouse supports an active event and member activities schedule including traditional events and special occasions like weddings and distinctive get-togethers. WBGCC is open approximately 11 months a year.
