Franklin, TN | Located just south of Nashville in Williamson County and inside the city limits of Franklin, Tennessee, Westhaven Golf Club is a privately owned private club that is managed by Troon Prive’ and opened in 2009. The course was designed by renowned architects Arthur Hills, Steve Forrest, and Associates as a core golf course that immediately earned impressive accolades, including being named to GolfWeek and Golf Digest's “2010 Best New Courses” lists.
Westhaven is a very financially secure club that boasts a healthy golfing membership of nearly 600 families that enjoy full access to Club amenities, including the 18-hole golf course, the Golf Performance Center at Westhaven, practice facility, upper-level full bar, restaurant and terrace, lower level Grille and patio, and a full schedule of member-specific activities and events for the whole family.

2021/2022 COURSE RENOVATION
In 2021 and 2022, Westhaven underwent an extensive renovation that included 13 new green complexes a new putting green, and regrassing putting surfaces with TifEagle Superdwarf Bermudagrass.

The total maintenance budget for Westhaven is approximately $1.6MM, including capital lease payments.
The facility plans to construct a new golf course maintenance facility to replace the inefficient decentralized setup.
Westhaven Golf Club is seeking a progressive and innovative leader to attract and lead a motivated grounds staff. He/She should take special pride in delivering exceptional playing conditions for members and guests by providing extraordinary turf conditions in a challenging environment. The Head Golf Course Superintendent will be responsible for managing the daily operations of the entire agronomy team at Westhaven Golf Club with a primary concentration on organizing, directing, and overseeing all facets of the department, including, but not limited to, staffing, training, safety protocol, chemical/fertilizer plans, working relationships across departments, interaction with club members, and financial controls for the department.
The successful candidate will embrace and promote continuous improvement in all aspects and at all levels of the department, and enjoy collaborating with multiple departments and consultants as well. Further, this individual will need to be very well organized, polished, and an effective and diplomatic communicator to members, guests, team members, and management.

Establish and oversee the agronomy department, procedures, controls, and focus with the goal of providing consistently high-quality playing conditions and attention to detail
Implement policies and procedures for the agronomy department, including compliance with company expectations while maintaining exceptional playing conditions
Ensure the safety and compliance of the department by meeting all federal, state, and local regulations regarding chemical applications, labor laws, and all other regulations that apply to agronomic practices
Work with the General Manager in the preparation of the annual budget, including all expenses within the department
Review and analyze various financial results/reports while monitoring the overall agronomy department performance and take any corrective actions that may be needed
Maintain and produce various (daily, weekly, monthly, etc.) business reports, forecasts, and plans accordingly
Create a team atmosphere where agronomy team members learn and grow in their profession.
Instill a sense of pride in teamwork, which will contribute to the achievement of Westhaven Golf Club's vision
Suggest capital improvement and special projects for the annual budget
Organize department management meetings, and staff meetings, and participate in department head/committee meetings as designated
Follow company policies and procedures regarding the handling of Westhaven Golf Club's equipment and other assets
Advise and assist the General Manager and implement policies, procedures, and goals that will strategically enhance the agronomy department for operational and financial success
Ensure member and guest satisfaction with respect to all levels of service and operation within the department
The Superintendent is encouraged to participate in the game of golf with the membership when time allows
Including, but not limited to, the following:
A college degree or university program certificate is required.
Class A Membership in the GCSAA
A minimum of 5 years of golf course superintendent experience at a high-quality facility is required.
Extensive experience managing high-quality warm-season turf grass is essential.
Experience in transition zone turf management is preferred.
Construction, renovation, and grow-in experience is preferred.
Valid Driver’s License
Chemical and Pesticide certificates
