ABOUT VERO BEACH COUNTRY CLUB
Vero Beach, FL | Vero Beach Country Club was founded in 1924 by Arthur McKee and Waldo Sexton. They are considered to be the founders of not only the Club but the city of Vero Beach as well. To this day, we are honored to have many of the newer generations of these families still maintaining memberships. Originally called the Royal Park Golf Course, the Club was born out of the citrus industry and all the local businesses lent a hand in developing and maintaining the course once it became operational. It was not until 1954 that the name Vero Beach Country Club was adopted and in 1968 it was reorganized as a private club.
Set only minutes from the Atlantic Ocean and the Intercoastal Waterway, the northern border of the club is comprised of mangroves and creates a private oasis for the front nine. The Club’s property is surrounded by quaint neighborhoods where many of the members live. Unlike most of the other clubs in the area, VBCC is almost 80% year-round residents so activities around the club are nonstop.
The Club currently has 400 golf members and 175 social members with a waiting list of just over 70. Active golf programs and groups for both men and women. The club is also known for its great food and recently opened fitness and pool complex complete with poolside dining and beverage service. A very active social calendar along with croquet, bridge, mahjong, book club, and other activities provides something for everyone.
The club culture is definitely one with a family feel. A management team of eight has almost 120 years of tenure and there are 20 team members with over 10 years of service to the Club. The Club operates under a committee structure and is governed by a Board of eleven. Member relevance, service, and fiduciary responsibility are cornerstones to the Club’s success and continue to provide the foundation on which we keep growing. Vero Beach Country Club is one of the best-kept secrets of the Treasure Coast of Florida.
