Position Description: Trump National Golf Club is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Golf to oversee all facets of its golf operations. This executive-level position plays a critical role in delivering a world-class golf experience aligned with the club’s distinguished brand and service standards.
Reporting directly to the PGA General Manager, the Director of Golf will oversee golf operations, including staff leadership, member services, tournament programming, merchandising, instructional programs, and golf facility management. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for the game, a deep understanding of private club culture, and a commitment to providing unparalleled service to an exclusive membership.
Provide strategic leadership and daily management of all facets of the golf operation, ensuring a premier golf experience for members and guests.
Hire, train, mentor, and lead a high-performing, service-driven golf staff while fostering a culture of professionalism, accountability, and continuous development.
Design and implement a comprehensive calendar of member tournaments, instructional programs, and engagement events that enhance member experience and participation.
Collaborate closely with the General Manager and department heads to align golf initiatives with overall club strategy and member service standards.
Deliver exceptional member service through proactive communication, approachability, and availability, ensuring high levels of member satisfaction and retention.
Oversee the golf shop merchandising operation, including product selection, vendor relations, inventory control, and sales strategy to optimize financial performance.
Manage tee time utilization, monitor pace of play, and uphold club rules and etiquette with professionalism and consistency.
Lead and execute all aspects of tournament operations, ensuring seamless planning, organization, and execution of club events.
Provide regular instruction and play with members to support skill development and strengthen personal connections.
Administer operating budgets, payroll, and performance reports with a focus on cost control and financial accountability.
Serve as a visible presence at the club, engaging actively with members and contributing to the overall camaraderie and club culture.
Including, but not limited to, the following:
PGA Class A Professional in good standing.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in high-end private club golf operations.
Demonstrated success in building and leading high-performing teams, with a consistent record of delivering elevated member experiences.
Comprehensive knowledge of all aspects of golf operations, including tournament management, retail merchandising, instructional programming, golf shop buying, and staff training.
Proficient in the Rules of Golf and committed to upholding the traditions and etiquette of the game.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to foster relationships with members, staff, vendors, and club leadership.
A hands-on leader who is visible, approachable, and responsive to member needs and feedback.
Strong business and fiscal acumen with experience in budgeting, payroll, reporting, and retail inventory management.
Available, engaged, and enthusiastic about playing and teaching as a way to build deeper connections with members and enhance the club's golf culture.
The club will provide a compensation and benefits package commensurate with experience and qualifications. This includes but is not limited to:
$130,000 - $150,000 Commensurate with Experience
