Port St. Lucie, FL | George Fazio’s reputation as a master of the game was earned on the PGA Tour in the early 1900s. He paid homage to the sport by creating some of the nation’s finest courses, including the famed Pine Valley in New Jersey. His enduring gift to the game lies at the heart of Port St. Lucie’s fabled PGA Village which his nephew Jim created in 1984 and originally named The Reserve Golf and Country Club.
In a deserved tribute, the club was renamed “The Legacy” upon George’s passing to commemorate both the man’s passion for golf and this exceptional example of course design. Today, The Legacy Club is a private, member-owned golf facility with 27 holes of spectacular golf. The Championship Course plays 7,023 yards offers five sets of tees to accommodate every skill level, and has hosted both U.S. Open and U.S. Senior Open Qualifiers since 2010. The Par 3, Yellow Course was designed by Jim Fazio and has holes ranging from 61 yards to 156 yards. It provides golfers with the unique opportunity to play 18 holes of golf in under 2 hours.
Additionally, The Legacy Club embraces family fun and growing the game, and implemented its newest amenity, The Desert Course. The Desert Course is a miniature golf course appealing to members and guests 8 years old to 80 years old. The course features 18 holes of enjoyment, winding through a unique desert setting of cacti, succulents, and rocks with fun twists and challenges throughout.
Finally, Legacy offers an expansive driving range with sets of tees on both ends allowing for the best possible turf conditions daily, and two short game areas with a large putting green giving you every opportunity to improve your game.
