TKC is a golf club with social amenities that celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2022 while playing host to the USGA Senior Amateur Championship.
Kittansett is recognized and currently ranked 68th by Golf.com and 89th among Golf Digest’s “Top 100 Golf Courses”. Originally designed by William Flynn before its restoration by Gil Hanse, who continues as its course advisor, the club is tucked away between Cape Cod and Rhode Island on the “Southcoast” of Massachusetts. Founded in 1922, the Club has enjoyed a rich history due to its celebrated course design, spectacular location, passionate membership, and devoted staff. The Kittansett experience is defined by its deep traditions, sportsmanship, and understated elegance, fostering a warm community atmosphere and strong camaraderie.
During its memorable history, Kittansett has hosted several Massachusetts Golf Association championships, including the Massachusetts Amateur Championship and the WGAM Edith Noblit Baker Trophy. The most prestigious event hosted by Kittansett was the 1953 Walker Cup, when the United States defeated Great Britain & Ireland 9 to 3.

Title: Head Golf Professional
Reports to: General Manager and consultation with Golf Committee Chair
Supervises: Director of Instruction, Assistant Professionals, Pro Shop staff, PGM Intern, and Outside Service Manager and personnel
Position Description: The PGA Head Golf Professional is responsible for the overall golf operations and must run a highly organized operation consistent with the expectations of a top-100 club, delivered with precision and structure. Core responsibilities include: continual development of a first-class golf experience for members and guests; collaborating effectively with the General Manager and other department heads for unified leadership and operational alignment; managing the golf shop, including inventory (apparel and clubs) and budgeting/fiscal responsibilities; recruiting, motivating, and retaining a top-talented team. Carry on the long traditions of the club’s culture and reputation, reinforcing the values of TKC.
Exhibit strong visibility and presence by being on the course, in the shop, and at events daily, building trust and maintaining an approachable, engaged, and attentive professional demeanor.
Provide a first-class golf experience to members and guests through exceptional service. The Professional is responsible for establishing and reinforcing clear service expectations to foster professionalism, responsiveness, and attentiveness from all golf staff. Create an enjoyable culture for the golf operation team.
Administer the Kittansett golf operations, including Member experience, Member Programs, expert tournament management, tee sheet management, Caddie program, and oversee golf instruction. The Head Professional should lead a strong instructional program, mentoring assistants, and ensuring consistency in player development.
Monitor the pace of play, practice areas, and the golf simulator room. Implement and consistently enforce policies related to guest access and pace of play, including on-course monitoring, to enhance fairness and the member experience.
Attend and prepare presentations, both written and verbal, as required for the Golf Committee and Board of Governors.
Cultivate and maintain an effective relationship with the GM, Golf Chair, Superintendent, and Board based on trust and accountability. Unified communication and coordinated decision-making with the General Manager are essential for stable leadership.
Building, training, and retaining a strong, high-performing golf staff is a high priority, specifically securing a top-tier first assistant. Conducts staff meetings and other meetings regularly to keep golf team members well-informed and safe.
Develop and monitor the annual budget (operational and capital), working with the Golf Chair, Treasurer, Controller, and GM. Demonstrate sound budgeting, inventory control, and fiscal prudence to ensure long-term financial sustainability.
Maintain and/or develop industry connections to enhance technology, latest trends, and staffing to help provide an exceptional golf experience. Streamline workflows and enhance technological accuracy across operations through the improved use of Golf Genius, Foretees, and Club Essentials.
Develop clear, proactive communications on all golfing activities. Coordinate with the Membership Services Manager to continuously update the website and weekly newsletters.
Maintain the USGA Handicap system and implement improved handicap governance.
Manage the Golf Shop with the latest fashion and equipment. The shop must reflect Kittansett's historic and elite character through curated products, consistent stocking, and polished presentation.
Comprehensive understanding of the rules of golf and the club’s rules on golf.
Encourages and supports the Francis Ouimet Scholarship Fund, which is a top priority at Kittansett.

The club will provide a compensation and benefits package commensurate with experience and qualifications. This includes but is not limited to:
Total compensation of $175,000-225,000 commensurate with experience
