Fort Myers, FL | The Golf Club at Crown Colony is a private member-owned club within a gated community in Fort Myers, FL. The course is over 400 acres adjacent to the coastal wetlands of the West Coast of Florida and is a Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Course.
The club has the benefit of a low membership cap, which allows members unhindered opportunities to play and enjoy the amenities of the club. The culture at the club is that of a “family of friends” who want to enjoy life to the fullest.
The membership overwhelmingly approved a $12M capital investment for renovation of the course, practice facility expansion, clubhouse additions, including an outdoor bar. The renovation is scheduled to be completed by late December 2026. The new General Manager will be an integral part of overseeing the renovation and leading the reopening.
The club has hosted the 2022 LPGA Tour Drive On Championship, the 2023 The Florida Open Golf Championship, the 2025 US Open Qualifying, and the US Open Senior Qualifying.

Position Description: The General Manager is under the direction of the Board of Governors and the President. The GM is responsible for the strategic development, implementation, and operation of The Golf Club at Crown Colony. The GM is responsible for leading the day-to-day operations and is integral to the long-term strategic direction and performance of the club.
The GM strives to ensure maximum member satisfaction. The position directs the work of all department heads, including but not limited to Membership Director, Head Golf Professional, Superintendent, Chef, Food and Beverage Manager, and Controller.
The GM will direct all functions of the club and be responsible for the overall operations and is a leader and mentor for all departments, creating service standards that drive high member satisfaction. He/She is responsible for the fiscal management of the club and ensures proper fiscal procedures and processes, along with the Controller.
Leadership and Membership Engagement:
Maintain constant professional interaction with members and staff, ensuring a well-supported membership and a cohesive, motivated team.
Respectful of a functional governance structure, which accounts for the Board's strategic role and guidance.
Develops and maintains a positive management philosophy to guide personnel toward optimal operating results, employee morale, and member satisfaction.
Operational Excellence:
Oversee all aspects of the Club’s key operations, including golf, food & beverage services, and member experience, to ensure amazing day-to-day operations and be a visionary in future planning.
Financial and Strategic Oversight:
Manage the Club’s budget and financial planning, ensuring fiscal responsibility while driving growth through innovative programming and strategic decision-making.
Ensures the timely development of accurate annual capital budgets, operating budgets, and business plans for each department. Accomplishes this with the delegation and involvement of key direct reports.
Provides guidance, assistance, and leadership to managers with the annual business plan process, assumptions, and deliverables.
Possesses strong actual financial management experience in a successful club and an in-depth understanding of club numbers, business planning, and budgeting.
Monitors volume forecasts in each department, actively communicates changes to plan, and recommends corrective action in areas of workforce, productivity, operating costs, and other elements, as needed
Staff Development:
Recruit, hire, and train a top-tier team while fostering a positive and productive work environment that aligns with the Club’s high standards.
Facility and Capital Project Management:
Provide proper management of the club’s facilities, coordinating maintenance and leading capital improvements with attention to detail and vision for the future.
Member-Centric Focus:
Be a visible presence at the club, engaging with members and enhancing camaraderie - the cornerstone of the Club’s culture.
Membership Development Program:
Oversees the total membership, including overall satisfaction, growth, and retention.
Supports and guides the team regarding the creation of member programming and marketing to prospective members.
Maintains close contact with members on a daily basis to ensure member satisfaction expectations are exceeded.
Oversee the resolution of all member, guest, and employee feedback and challenges in a timely manner.
Innovation and Technology:
Introduce innovative ideas to improve operations and member experiences while leveraging modern club management system.
This position is key to upholding the traditions and reputation of Crown Colony while driving its continued success.
Including, but not limited to, the following:
A bachelor's degree from a 4-year university or college (preferred).
Minimum of 5 years of verifiable leadership experience in an active private member club.
Career track record that demonstrates strong leadership and progression in a hospitality and private club environment.
Candidates should have achieved the Certified Club Manager, PGA Professional, and or PGA Certification in Executive Management.
Strong verifiable experience in membership growth and retention.
Strong financial acumen, specifically within the golf and hospitality industry.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Depth and experience with capital improvement projects.
