Opened in 1995, Estancia is nestled on 640 acres of the northern slope of Scottsdale's famed landmark Pinnacle Peak in a private, gated community. The Tom Fazio-designed 18-hole championship golf course is honored internationally and offers 7,314 yards of superb golf, bent grass greens, and breathtaking views. An active caddy program enhances annual rounds.
Estancia is a private club owned and operated by its members. Supporting a legacy of ambiance and friendship, various social-based activities present numerous options for Estancia members and their guests. Our clubhouse amenities include dining, a fitness center, tennis, pickleball, and basketball courts, and a swimming pool. Groups often meet for hiking, book club, and bridge games.

Title: Director of Golf
Reports to: General Manager
Position Description: The Director of Golf must have a reputation and proven record of running a premier golf operation and can balance all areas of responsibility successfully.
As a critical member of The Estancia Club's team, our Director of Golf will be instrumental in building on the legacy of world-class member and guest experience. The successful candidate will lead a team of top performers who take pride in delivering a world-class golf experience and will also inspire excellence from all team members.
The selected candidate will be energized by and committed to creating an environment where people develop in their careers while consistently achieving operational excellence. The Director of Golf will model a personal dedication to growth and continuous improvement to positively impact The Estancia Club’s culture.
Manage all golf and golf-related activities and business.
Plan, promote, and direct all golf activities, including daily management responsibilities.
Interpret and enforce “The Rules of Golf.”
Interpret and enforce club policies, rules, and regulations.
Prepare annual and monthly budgets for golf operations and take corrective action as necessary to help assure that budget goals are attained.
Supervise golf play of members and guests from the first tee and maintain starting times according to the club’s rules and regulations.
Maintain a visible presence on the course during peak times of play.
Organize and conduct club tournaments and related events.
Continue to grow and manage the Club's Caddie Program.
Assist in selecting and distributing prizes for all golf-related tournaments and events.
Order supplies associated with golf activities and approve merchandise orders for the golf shop.
Maintain an attractive and orderly appearance in the golf shop.
Select, supervise, train, and evaluate assistant professionals, pro shop, and outside service staff.
Play golf with members of all skill levels to promote enthusiasm and encourage the assistant golf professionals to do the same.
Enforce the By-laws and Club policies governing play.
Design and conduct golf clinics in coordination with The Estancia Club's Teaching Professional.
Plan professional development and training activities for subordinates.
Review charges for all golf-related activities.
Help maintain and facilitate our top 100 golf course rating and #1 ranking in Arizona, through working with Golf Digest (and other publications). Guide and advise the rating committee as needed.
Consult with the General Manager regarding golf course and practice range operations, maintenance, and rules.
Cooperate with the grounds superintendent regarding maintenance issues affecting the golf course's playability.
Represent Estancia in area professional events as approved by General Manager. Attend all staff, management, and other applicable meetings.
Maintain records relating to player and guest rounds and other statistics.
Coordinate social events to promote golf and fellowship among members and guests.
Schedule staff hours to ensure members are fully served, and labor costs are maintained; periodically check time cards for adherence to posted schedules.
Assist in developing short- and long-range plans to improve the club facilities and course.
Interact with the food and beverage director about food and beverage event needs.
The Director of Golf will have the experience and knowledge to operate a premier golf operation in accordance with the expectations of the General Manager, Board of Directors, and Members.

A respectable ability to play and teach the game of golf.
Ability to learn quickly and develop professionally.
Accomplished PGA professional with extensive experience as a Head Professional or Director of Golf at a private club.
A “go-to” individual who takes ownership of the operation and is a highly visible and engaged leader.
A true visionary for The Estancia Club's golf operations while remaining focused on operational details.
A strong leader focused on two-way communication with all team members.
