Jackson Hole, WY | Teton Pines, located in beautiful Jackson Hole, Wyoming was originally approved for development in 1984 as an upscale golf and country club designed to cater to both the neighboring residents and the resort community.
The site was selected due to its level location at the base of the Tetons with two waterways crossing the property and the land was purchased from two local ranches, Vandewater & Wright-Clark. Bob Marshall and Orrin Vincent were the two consultants who originally started laying out the groundwork for the golf course while DSK Design Group spearheaded the Resort Clubhouse. Palmer Golf was hired to design the golf course as a Palmer Signature course. At the groundbreaking ceremony on July 30, 1984, Palmer stated that his philosophy behind Teton Pines was “to build a challenging course for the low handicap golfer but keep it fun for the families'' and when asked what the key strategy to playing the course should be; he stated, “Be sure to drive the ball real, real hard.” The course enjoys Bentgrass greens and two types of bluegrass for the fairways, approaches, and roughs, Merritt and Baron, along with a little Palmer Rye for quick initial growth.
The original club amenities included golf, tennis, cross-country skiing, and dining and operated under a “semi-private” structure until around 2017 when the club first started to transition to a private “member only” model. The club’s ownership structure is a partnership that has grown to 53 investors over the years. The management of the Club is vested in an elected Executive Committee consisting of seven elected partners responsible for leading the Club's strategic direction and employing a management team led by the General Manager to run day-to-day operations.
The Club currently has approximately 630 memberships, including the investors with a waiting list to join. Golf membership is targeted at 400 memberships, with 387 currently active. The remainder of the memberships are social and racquet sports. The current initiation fee for a right-to-use membership is $200,000 with annual dues for full membership at $17,160. The golf rounds are approximately 14,440 during a season from around May to October. From November through April a Foresight Falcon golf simulator allows members to maintain their game and receive instruction.
The Club is currently amid a major upgrade and expansion project that seeks to ensure its relevance for the next generation. The plan began in 2020 with the replacement of the racquet sports dome, followed by a renovation of all the bunkers on the course in 2021 & 2022. Additionally, four greens #7, #10, #12, and #15 were completely rebuilt and replaced. Teton Pines recently expanded its aquatic center in 2021 to include a year-round lap pool, adult jacuzzi, and family jacuzzi and upgraded its recreational pool to be more family-friendly. In 2022 the outdoor racquet courts were renovated to include two outdoor tennis courts and four outdoor pickleball courts on a state-of-the-art cushioned surface. Three courts are domed year-round to provide Jackson Hole’s only winter racquet sports facility.
The Club broke ground in September 2024 on a new Wellness Center that will house a state-of-the-art fitness center with a yoga studio and physical therapy room, men’s and ladies change rooms, a full kitchen, and open-air bar designed to service the pool and the Club’s laundry services. The Wellness Center is expected to be completed in the Spring 2026. Then in late 2026/early 2027, the Club will commence the expansion and full renovation of the clubhouse to include an expanded golf shop with two adjoining simulators, an expanded kitchen with two kitchen lines to support multiple dining concepts and banquet services, a dedicated bar/lounge, conference facilities, a wine retail shop, a kid’s corner, members card room and both alpine and Nordic ski storage. The overall upgrade and expansion project is targeted to be completed in early to mid 2028.
