The Southern Ohio PGA is seeking an energetic, strategic, and highly organized Junior Golf Director to lead all aspects of our premier junior golf players pathway. This position will oversee the full operation, growth, and strategic direction of the Southern Ohio PGA Junior Tour, including membership, player development programming, and event execution across Southern Ohio.
This is a full-time, year-round opportunity based in Southern Ohio and includes performance incentives tied to Junior Tour membership growth.
About the Southern Ohio PGA Junior Tour
The SOPGA Junior Tour is one of the region’s fastest-growing competitive and developmental pathways for young golfers. With more than 1,000 youth participants annually, our programs are designed to introduce, develop, and elevate junior golfers of all abilities while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and tournament quality.
Title: Junior Golf Director
Position Description: The Junior Golf Director will be responsible for strategic leadership, day-to-day operations, and future expansion of all SOPGA junior golf initiatives. This individual will ensure exceptional junior member experiences, collaborate with PGA Professionals and partner facilities, elevate competitive standards, and drive membership growth through innovative programming, retention strategies, and relationship building with families, coaches, and golf facilities.
This position reports to the Operations Director of the Southern Ohio PGA.
Leadership & Strategy
Lead the long-term vision, annual planning, and strategic growth of the SOPGA Junior Tour.
Establish membership targets and drive year-over-year recruitment and retention growth.
Build and maintain strong relationships with junior golf families, PGA Professionals, high-school coaches, and partner facilities.
Develop and manage the annual Junior Golf budget.
Operations & Event Management
Oversee the full tournament schedule including site selection, staffing plans, rules administration, pace-of-play standards, and customer service protocols.
Manage all pre-event, on-site, and post-event operations including scoring, communications, awards, and reporting.
Manage and lead all Drive, Chip & Putt events in Southern Ohio
Ensure all events meet SOPGA standards for safety, fairness, professionalism, and competitive quality.
Membership & Customer Experience
Design and implement a comprehensive membership experience that encourages progression, loyalty, and pathway engagement.
Respond promptly and professionally to parent and player inquiries.
Create and execute retention campaigns, touchpoints, and value-driven enhancements.
Player Development & Pathway Programming
Collaborate with SOPGA Professionals to build developmental/feeder programming, including entry-level events, clinics, or local series.
Work as the Association lead on Team Ohio and the US National Development Program in Ohio.
Explore partnerships with high school golf coaches, collegiate programs, and regional golf organizations.
Marketing & Communications
Develop and execute annual marketing and content plans to promote Junior Tour membership, events, and success stories.
Manage all Junior Tour digital platforms, including website content, social media presence, and email communications.
Support sponsor activation, branding opportunities, and growth of commercial partners.
Including, but not limited to, the following:
Required
PGA Member or Associate preferred; golf industry experience required.
Strong event management and customer service background.
Experience working with junior golfers, golf families, and youth development programs.
Excellent communication, public-speaking, and relationship-building skills.
High level of professionalism and comfort representing the SOPGA in public settings.
Ability to work extended hours during the summer season, including evenings and some weekends.
Proficiency with tournament software (BlueGolf, Golf Genius, or similar), Google Workspace and other digital platforms.
Preferred
Experience in youth sports administration.
Knowledge of USGA/PGA rules and tournament operations.
Familiarity with marketing, social media strategy, and digital communications.
Ability to develop partnerships and secure sponsors.
The Section will provide compensation and benefits package commensurate with experience and qualifications. This includes but not limited to:
Competitive salary commensurate with experience ($45,000 to $55,000 with potential to make a 10% bonus)
Performance incentive based on total annual Junior Tour membership.
