POSITION OVERVIEW
The South Florida PGA Foundation is offering an opportunity for an individual of a diverse background to garner a 1-year experience in all facets of the golf industry with a focus on foundation programming.
The PGA WORKS Fellowship is intentionally focused on engaging a diverse demographic of participants with consideration to the following protected classes: Gender, Age, Race/Color, National Origin/ Ancestry, Sexual Orientation, Disability and Veteran Status – though anyone is welcome to apply.
Ultimately, the PGA WORKS Fellowship aims to establish a network of diverse talent who are prepared to ascend to key employment positions in the game and business of golf.
START DATE: Between July 15th - August 1st

ABOUT THE SOUTH FLORIDA PGA:
The South Florida PGA was established as a non-profit association, consisting of qualified golf professionals dedicated to promoting the game of golf, elevating the image of the PGA and its members, providing educational and playing opportunities, as well as perpetuating employment opportunities for its members. The South Florida PGA office administers approximately thirty professional golf tournaments and approximately one hundred junior golf events throughout the year. The South Florida PGA office is responsible for serving 2,000 South Florida PGA Members and Associates along with approximately 1,200 South Florida Junior Golf members and over 14,000 Golf Pass customers.

ABOUT THE SOUTH FLORIDA PGA FOUNDATION:
In 2004, the South Florida PGA Foundation began operations as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization founded to support the South Florida community. Since its inception, the Foundation has experienced extreme growth through the support of countless PGA Professionals, facilities, and numerous corporations. Over the past nineteen years, the Foundation has touched the lives of more than 14,000 individuals residing in south Florida through various programs including, but not limited to, junior golf, PGA HOPE, Habitat for Humanity, Smiling Fore Life, and scholarships.
PGA Professionals dedicated to serving the south Florida community and changing lives through the game of golf.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The primary focus of this position will be to assist with both South Florida PGA Section and Foundation activities, including but not limited to PGA Tour qualifiers, junior golf programming, and more. Examples include:
Assist with Section events, including PGA and Korn Ferry Tour Qualifiers from January through March
Assist with junior golf programming, including all Drive, Chip and Putt Qualifiers, as well as the South Florida PGA Junior Links, Prep and Medalist Tours
This would include the day-to-day operations of all junior golf programs, along with the onsite execution of the events
Assist in the planning, pairings, course marking, onsite administration, and pre and post-event communications
Assist with additional Foundation programming including but not limited to PGA HOPE, Smiling Fore Life, Habitat for Humanity, and 10 All In
Assist with all communications for Foundation programming
Provide onsite support when needed
Assist with the tracking of all PGA Professionals who assist with Foundation programs
Assist SFPGA Section Foundation and PGA WORKS (national) in the awareness of the PGA WORKS Fellowship to help attract new candidates for SFPGA Section Foundation Fellowship
Skills in:
Planning and organizing
Oral and written communication, public speaking and presentations
Managing multiple priorities in multi-functional work environments
Word processing, spreadsheet, Google platforms and presentation software applications.
Working with children and young adults ages 6-18
Ability to:
Interact, collaborate and build relationships both internally within departments and externally with all Association stakeholders through open and direct communication style
Work in a fast-paced and team-oriented structure
Make presentations and respond to questions representing the Association.
Apply judgment and decision-making skills.
Write reports and standard business correspondence.
Present oneself in a professional manner and appearance.
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive data.
Be flexible, working weekends and traveling overnight, in South Florida market.
Perform physical duties; frequently required to stand/walk for extended periods of time; the employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS:
Undergraduate degree within the last 12 months.
Valid driver's license required.
Interest in a career in golf or sports administration preferred.
