Shawnee Country Club
Lima, OH
Lima, OH
Shawnee Country Club was established in 1904 by Colonel John Charles Linneman. It is one of the oldest private Country Clubs in Ohio, filled with great history and tradition. Our primary objective is to be a family-oriented social and recreational Club of the highest caliber.
The current Clubhouse was built in 1996 and completely renovated in 2014. With accommodations for 10 to 250 guests, it is the perfect setting to entertain family, friends, or co-workers. Shawnee offers four banquet rooms with stunning golf course views. These views carry over to the member dining areas as well as there is ample room for members to enjoy dinner or a casual drink.
In the Fall of 2017, an Olympic-sized swimming pool from 1971 was demolished and replaced with a 6,493-sq-ft model that opened in May of 2018. Packed with plenty of bells and whistles, the new zero-entry pool boasts two 30-foot slides, a splash pad, lap lanes, six swimming lanes, and assorted water features for kids. Designated lap-lanes cordon off the kid’s area, maintaining distinct sections of the pool. To enhance the existing space, an additional 3,000 square feet of pool decking increased the area to 10,630 square feet. The club purchased new outdoor furniture for sunbathers and added four 30-feet umbrellas for families seeking respite from the summer sun. Just off the pool area is a full-service snack shop and indoor lounge, and poolside beverage service is available on the weekends during the summer months. Shawnee also features a racquet area with four tennis courts and a pickleball court.
A Tom Bendelow gem of a Lima golf course, the 18-Hole Course at Shawnee Country Club uses the natural rolling hills to create a beautiful but challenging course for players of all skill levels. Premier conditioning and narrow fairways await those who accept the challenge. Complete practice facilities encourage members of every level to sharpen their skills.
Hosting approximately 12,500 rounds of golf annually the club boasts an active membership of 250 golf members out of a total membership of 365. There is an active Men’s and Ladies’ associations along with a wide range of junior golf programming that provides an opportunity for the whole family to enjoy the facility. Shawnee enjoys a primary golfing season of April-October.
