Shadow Wood Country Club is an exquisite private, member-owned country club with a luxury resort feel, located in the heart of Southwest Florida between Naples and Fort Myers. The Club offers a vibrant social life, with world-class amenities, in a friendly, relaxed country club environment.
Shadow Wood Country Club includes three distinctly different championship golf courses, including original designs by Bob Cupp and Arthur Hills with recent renovations by Rees Jones to all three courses. Members also have access to a nine-court tennis complex, three bocce courts, a 53,000-sq.-ft. main clubhouse, and a 16,000-sq.-ft. clubhouse at Shadow Wood Preserve.
The members at Shadow Wood continue to invest heavily into their club, recently finishing a multi-million dollar renovation led by the revered Peacock and Lewis and AM Design Architects, transforming the space into a breathtaking, contemporary-style resort, unlike any other in Southwest Florida, and earning recognition by Golf Inc., Magazine as one of the 2020 Winners in Clubhouse Renovations.
One of the highlights of the renovation was to provide members with a casual, outdoor environment that would increase the amount of a la carte dining space. This expansive 9,000 square-foot indoor-outdoor venue features a folding glass door system, outdoor firepits, a wall of 55" television monitors, an octangular bar, pizza oven, sushi station, soup and salad bar, and locally brewed Shadow Wood craft beer and orange seltzer on tap. Besides the Golfside Grille, there are numerous other gathering areas that encourage Members to reconnect to settle bets after golf or gather for cocktails and conversations in the evenings. Live entertainment, holiday parties, themed events, and cooking classes, are just the start of a very active social calendar.
The most recently completed phase of renovations included a 3,500 sq/ft contemporary Golf Shop with a carefully created retail-experience atmosphere. The prominent octangular shape, floor-to-ceiling windows, impressive vaulted ceiling, and completely customized merchandise-fixtures-package establish a truly unique golf shop environment. Shadow Wood was recognized as the 3rd Top Ranked Golf Shop in the Country by Club and Resort Magazine. Alongside the new golf shop, a 2,000+ sq/ft Golf Administration Center, recreated Golf Arrival and Staging areas, and expanded Men's and Ladies' Locker Rooms/Lounges were also completed to raving Member reviews. This summer, covered and monitored Toptracer hitting stations and Toptracer mobile features are being installed at the Practice Areas.
Future plans recently unveiled to the members include constructing a cutting-edge, technically advanced instructional performance center with the vision to position it as the best-in-class nationally.
THE OPPORTUNITY
THE OPPORTUNITY
Shadow Wood Country Club is seeking an experienced and innovative Director of Instruction to create a nationally recognized instructional program. He/she will be responsible for the overall direction, fiscal management, and evaluation of the instructional department including assembling a team of the best instructors in the country.
The Director of Instruction will contribute to all processes related to the continued planning for the new performance center, recently unveiled to the membership and received with much excitement and anticipation! The successful candidate will be adept at the latest instructional technologies and will have the knowledge and experience to recommend improvement during and after project completion. He/she will lead a team of instructors to provide an exceptional and consistent experience for members and guests of all skill levels, and positioning the performance center as one of America's best!
Candidates will have a proven record of creating and implementing a robust insctuctional program for Men & Women, which will be a primary KPI at Shadow Wood Country Club, and will include developing a framework for all skill levels and incorporating unique opportunities both on property as well as away from the club.
The Director of Instruction will report to the Director of Golf.

Proven ability to position Shadow Wood Country Club as one of America's best instructional institutes.
A highly visible, engaging, and innovative leader who develops unique programming, promotes fun and camaraderie, and drives participation.
Leads a department that meets the expectations of the core business and provides lifelong development opportunities for everyone.
Develops, presents, and manages all budget-related materials including but not limited to key assumptions, annual business planning, and competitive market analyses to continually evaluate instructional and retail performance.
Must have a broad network to attract and retain a high-performing team. Hiring, training, evaluating, and ensuring consistent messaging to members and guests is paramount.
Creates and provides materials and/or documents to promote all instructional programs to ensure brand standards are met.
Work with the club's Marketing Manager to update instructional content on the website and promote upcoming events and programs.
Maintains and submits accurate financial reports to the Director of Golf.
Works with the Merchandise Manager to maintain acceptable hard goods, demo & club fitting inventory levels ensuring profitability through inventory turnover and cost of sales control in accordance with the Club’s budget guidelines.
Knowledgeable about equipment trends and creates a mutually beneficial relationship with vendors.
Exceptional merchandising skills to develop, promote and produce a profitable hard goods business.
Responsible for all ordering, receiving, and storage of the club’s demo & fitting programs. Administers physical inventories as prescribed by Shadow Wood guidelines and manages proper shrink controls.

Must be a Class A PGA Member
Must have 5+ years of experience at a high-volume private country club
Embodies the highest level of integrity with strong personal core values.
Leads by example, showcasing a strong work ethic and determination to help others improve their performance.
Exceptional communication skills both verbally and in writing.
Possesses a proven track record of hiring, training, and managing team members.
Maintains a professional image and promotes the club both inside and outside the gates of the community.
Is dedicated to honing their own playing skills and is a reputable player
