Nekoosa, WI | Sand Valley offers guests three unique and challenging "second golden age" golf courses in Wisconsin's heartland. Sand Valley, Mammoth Dunes, and The Sandbox have all opened to immediate accolades, including "2nd and 3rd Best Golf Courses You Can Play in Wisconsin in 2020, and two TOP 100 courses in the country" along with The Best New Short Course in 2018, respectively. In 2023 Sand Valley will welcome The LIDO to its portfolio, a private club and a re-creation of what was once known as the best golf course in the world. What is Sand Valley Looking For?
The Head Golf Professional will be a dynamic leader who strongly emphasizes team building and management. They will achieve business goals and demands by pouring their time and energy into staff development, staff coaching, and staff mentoring.
They will directly oversee 15-20 Assistant Golf Professionals, Golf Shop Staff and Professional Interns.
Full-Time Year-Round Salary Exempt Classification.
POSITION OVERVIEW
Sand Valley Golf Resort is seeking a Head Golf Professional. The ideal candidate will work closely with the Director of Golf, Director of Reservations, and Retail Manager to ensure a seamless, customer service-driven operation at Sand Valley Golf Resort. This position will oversee the inside golf staff and Tournament Coordinator.
This is a hands-on position that will ensure the highest standards of service, sanitation, safety, comfort, and aesthetics and directs all department activities, projects, and programs. Manage department personnel, plan and schedule work activities, and provide appropriate leadership and guidance per Company culture and policies. Support for golf operations, group programming, guest relations, front desk, golf grounds, and general property communication will be essential to the success of this position.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure accurate tracking of types and quantity of golf rounds played. Monitor customer preferences, usage patterns, and satisfaction with company products and services. Assess the quality of internal and external customer service and speed of play. Recommend plans for continued improvement.
Assist in implementing applicable company operating, human resources, and safety policies and procedures pertaining to golf shop and outside service activities. Ensure procedures are followed to open, close, and secure the golf shop and storage buildings.
Work closely with the Retails Sales Coordinator/Merchandiser with the golf merchandising concession to achieve its established mission within the golf operation.
Supervise and train all golf shop staff in selling techniques and ensure they are enhancing the shopping experience of the guest and maximizing sales opportunities.
Assist with all in-house major tournaments and work together with TC and department heads to execute and exceptional event.
Supervise the Tournament Coordinator and ensure all incoming groups have been contacted and offered Tournament Services and Group Merchandise options.
Maintains an attractive and orderly appearance in and around the golf shop
Maintains product documentation from purchase to sale; including purchase orders, receiving records, invoice validation/payment, inventory records and special-order records to document merchandise history
Update and maintain policies/procedures and job descriptions for areas of supervision and direct reports. Ensure they are adhered to and posted in the proper areas.
Support the DOG and Head Golf Professionals with all activities of the golf operations including outside services, hotel transportation, guest services, practice facility, and caddie services.
Monitor facility activities and make recommendations to improve customer service and/or operational efficiencies.
Manage employment activities for applicable staff members including recruitment and selection, performance evaluations, training, compensation, payroll preparation, discipline, and termination, etc. in compliance with company human resources policies and procedures.
Plan departmental work and staffing schedules to achieve quality standards with minimum labor costs.
Conduct staff meetings to ensure coordination of departmental activities as well as with other departments.
Maintain accurate records pertaining to department activities including, but not limited to, labor schedules, building maintenance, equipment repair, safety meetings and activities, etc.
Greet guests, visitors, and vendors in a genuine, helpful, and friendly manner.
In off season you will be responsible for recruiting, interviewing, and hiring world class team staff members and work where needed assigned by the Director of Golf.
CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS
College degree preferred; PGA Member preferred.
2-3 years of applicable functional and/or management experience, preferably in the hospitality industry.
Demonstrated quality written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to analyze and solve problems; efficiently handle multiple duties under pressure with minimal supervision; work flexible hours as required, including nights/weekends.
Positive attitude, professional manner, and appearance in all situations.
Working Conditions
Typical office setting with overhead lighting and adjustable ventilation. This individual may be exposed from time to time to inclement weather, potentially dangerous pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers; equipment movement hazards; misdirected golf balls. Injury may result as a result of exposure to the above if safety policies and practices are not properly followed at all times.

Operate vehicles and equipment for several hours at a time
Perform mathematical calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages.
Retrieve, read, and interpret information from technical sources.
Stand, walk, push, pull, lift, grasp, bend, and kneel for up to 5 hours at a time
Lift up to 100 lbs. occasionally, 50 lbs. frequently, and 20 lbs. constantly

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
Total Compensation $58,000 - $70,000
Base Salary - $55,000-$60,000
