Title: Head Golf Professional
Position Description: The Head Golf Professional will manage all aspects of the golf operation, including the golf shop, the golf staff, and tournament operations. He/She will engage with the members and will collaborate with the Merchandiser, the Golf Course Superintendent, and the Director of Operations to carry out critical acts determined by ownership and the board of governors.
Responsible for the day-to-day leadership of the golf operations, maintenance, and overseeing the entire golf operation.
Responsible for achieving the highest possible service standards daily to ensure consistency, product quality, and promote guest/member confidence and loyalty.
Shall oversee the development, completion, and implementation of the annual operating budget for the golf department.
Creates and executes a membership golf tournament schedule.
Responsible for ensuring the best possible financial performance of the golf department by monitoring daily operations and the total revenues and expenses.
Shall always enforce and ensure policies and procedures of the facility are applied in an equal and fair manner for all employees, guests, and members.
Recommend and/or establish policy and procedural changes as appropriate to support the goals of the operation, ownership, and management.
Responsible for ensuring all new employees complete new hire orientation and receive departmental training specifically related job function.
Ensures the overall cleanliness of the golf facilities at the highest possible level.
Represents the facility in various community functions in a way that supports the overall objectives of the facility.
Cooperate in performing any other duty deemed reasonable and necessary by the ownership and management.
Shall also represent the club in various other golf-related functions, which would promote good community relations and exposure for the club.
Including, but not limited to, the following:
Some college education or its equivalent.
PGA Member preferred.
Continuing education training through the PGA or the CMAA.
Prior management experience in the golf industry is required.
Able to manage a high-volume tee sheet.
Experience managing teams in a fast-paced, for-profit environment.
Able to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats.
Able to perform all duties necessary to accomplish club objectives.
Able to delegate responsibilities.
Able to develop, lead, and manage a team.
Must be computer literate with typing skills.
Able to perform arithmetic computations for budgeting and cost analysis.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. to waist height.
Some repetitive motion is required, including computer entry.
Frequent bending, turning, kneeling, and stooping may be required.
Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
Normal vision and hearing ranges required.
Must be able to fluently speak and write the English language.
