Mundelein, IL | Pine Meadow Golf Club is a public facility in the northwest suburbs of Chicago, designed in 1984 by architects Joe Lee and Rocky Roquemore. Pine Meadow opened for play in 1986 and was voted the best “New Public Course in America” by Golf Digest, and continues to be ranked among the Top 10 public access courses in Illinois. The facility is operated by the Jemsek Family, who has overseen the initial construction of the golf course, as well as the clubhouse and maintenance facility.
The golf course has seven sets of tees from 7238 to 5272 yards to accommodate players of all skill levels. 250-year-old oak trees, 60-foot tall pines, maples, and shagbark hickory trees border the fairways. While the Pine Meadow Golf Club course is nationally known, so too is its learning center and practice facility. The learning center and practice facility is considered the best of its kind in Northern Illinois.

Position Description: Pine Meadow is currently seeking a General Manager/Head Professional with outstanding customer service skills and experience in golf operations with food and beverage. We are looking for strong leadership, result oriented, with a passion for golf to be able to work with a diverse group of members, guests and staff. The successful candidate will work closely with ownership to drive strategic growth and enhance the already high-level experience that Pine Meadow golfers enjoy. Key skills to success include knowledge in the following areas: Golf Operations, Basic Accounting, Marketing & Social Media, Agronomy, Retail, and Food & Beverage.
Provide an outstanding guest experience to increase player development for all ages and experience levels in a friendly and welcoming environment.
Overall management of the facility and work closely with the owners to prepare the business plan to increase revenue growth and use of dynamic pricing.
Enhance facility technology in all possible phases including hardware and software.
Manage the marketing of the golf course to grow leagues, outings, travel groups, golf instruction, golf shop sales and working closely where relevant in partnership with food and beverage.
To be responsible for the performance of the golf shop operations including accuracy of inventory, purchasing, pricing and margins.
Recruit retention and development of a strong team. To provide effective leadership for the golf operations, giving direction to individuals and motivating and supporting them to achieve the organization’s vision and objectives.
Responsibility for the golf course operations and pro shop financial statements: sales reports, inventory, budget, department cash handling procedures including daily deposits
Prepare yearly budgets and capital expense requirements
Including, but not limited to, the following:
PGA Member in good standing strongly preferred
Bachelor’s degree (BA) preferred
Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Head Professional/Director of Golf/General Manager
Well-qualified Lead Assistants are encouraged to apply
Experience in budgeting, revenue forecasting, capital expenditure, inventory management, and marketing plans.
IT literate with experience in relevant software applications (PC and/or Mac) and computerized POS; Management systems/data storage and tee time systems
Experienced in writing business reports
The club will provide compensation and benefits package commensurate with experience and qualifications. This includes but is not limited to:
Base salary of $90,000
Instruction revenue potential
Annual performance bonus
Total Compensation anticipated: $95,000-$115,000
Allowance for continuing education and professional association dues
