A STORIED LEGACY IN GOLF
For over 30 years, PGA National Resort has been a cornerstone of professional golf, hosting iconic events such as the 1983 Ryder Cup and the 1987 PGA Championship. Today, it continues this tradition as the proud host of the prestigious Cognizant Classic, adding to its celebrated legacy. With 99 holes of championship golf, including a scenic Par-3 executive course, PGA National Resort offers something for players of every skill level.
The Champion
The most famous of the courses at PGA National Resort, originally designed by Tom & George Fazio and redesigned by Jack Nicklaus in 1989 and again in 2002, is a true test of skill and strategy. Known for hosting the Cognizant Classic each spring on the PGA TOUR, this course has earned its place among the best in Florida and the entire country. With five sets of tees, the course is playable for golfers of all levels. One of the most iconic stretches in golf, “The Bear Trap”, which spans holes 15-17, is widely regarded as one of the toughest on tour, making The Champion a must-play for any avid golfer.
The Palmer
One of the premier golf experiences at PGA National Resort, this Arnold Palmer signature design opened in 1984 as “The General”. In 2007 and 2017 it received a total renovation by Mr. Palmer and relaunched it as The Palmer course. A risk reward layout with a forgiving flair is complemented by dramatic natural hazards.
The Fazio
Originally designed as a tribute to five-time PGA champion Walter Hagen, The Fazio golf course pairs classic architecture with modern advances. It’s an ideal balance where single-digit golfers will be fully challenged, while those with higher handicaps are in for a great entertaining day of golf.
The Estate
The Estate course presents an enjoyable combination of challenging and docile holes. The course sets up for any level of player, as it is one the shorter courses at PGA National Resort. Where you will be tested, is in the formidable placement of fairway bunkers and water penalty areas.
World-Class Practice Facilities
Golfers will revel in the resort’s exceptional practice facilities, designed to help sharpen every aspect of their game. These include:
Two expansive driving ranges
Dedicated short-game areas with sand bunkers
Immaculate putting greens
Whether you're perfecting your swing or preparing for a tournament, PGA National’s golf amenities set the stage for success.
