Assistant Coach – Junior Golf Programming
Frisco, TX | The PGA Coaching Center is a key element of the PGA Frisco campus, providing connectivity to the community from which the PGA will breed and foster its coaching philosophy, as well as provide a high-tech, data-driven experience for its customers. The PGA Coaching Center offers industry-leading experiences among three main categories for player development: Coaching, Club Fitting, and Golf Fitness. The PGA Coaching Center will be a showcase for PGA Coaching and Player Development Principles.
The PGA Coaching Center Assistant Coach is a direct report to the Head Coach for the PGA Coaching Center at PGA Frisco, the PGA of America’s only signature, state-of-the-art, consumer-facing golf development and training facility.
There are two Assistant Coach positions available. One position will have primary involvement with PGA Junior League and other junior golf programming. The other position will have primary involvement with adult group programming. Candidates may apply for one of the opportunities of the candidate’s choice or submit an application to be considered for both positions.
The Assistant Coach will assist in the development of all Player Engagement programs and take part in their implementation to fulfill the mission and objectives of the PGA Coaching Center. The Assistant Coach will play an active role in the service-oriented culture that will help build a legacy for the PGA Coaching Center and PGA Coaches around the globe.
Represents the PGA of America in the utmost professional manner.
Including, but not limited to, the following:
Involved in the daily operation of the PGA Coaching Center. Play an active role in observing and maintaining the PGA Coaching Center’s appearance throughout the day.
Help ensure the philosophies, standards, and operational guidelines of the PGA Coaching Center and the brand/image of the PGA of America are in play on a daily basis.
Support the Head Coach and Lead Coaches in developing an evolving comprehensive Player Engagement Menu for the PGA Coaching Center.
Collaborate with the Head Coach and Lead Coaches on teaching aids and necessary equipment to provide professional instruction.
Participate in the teaching/coaching of all Player Engagement Programs as well as Private Instruction.
Play an active role in the coordination, setup/takedown of any Player Engagement Programs that the Assistant Coach is part of.
Exhibit a clear understanding of the 5 C's of Coaching, the American Development Model (ADM) and the PGA Coaching Philosophy as defined by implementing the ADM Model and PGA Coaching Philosophy in the daily teaching/coaching programs.
Assistant Coaches will share roles of 'Opening and Closing' the facility.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist with the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the University Interns. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
Responsible for day-to-day tracking of lessons and group instruction from a scheduling, payment, and facilitation standpoint. Responsible for the accounting procedures to identify and post 'house' fees related to all completed lesson and group instruction programs.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Knowledge of Google Workspace and ability to operate and understand point-of-sale systems, payment systems, word processing, and spreadsheet software. Understand various golf technology coaching software, launch monitors, simulators, and other technology-related training tools in and around the PGA Coaching Center with all Player Engagement and Private Lesson teaching/coaching opportunities.
Working knowledge or adoption of the PGA Coach App for all instruction program scheduling.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree (B.A. /B.S.) preferred or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Teaching experience and comfort with driving revenue through marketing and promotion
Self-sufficient with experience in all areas of responsibility to support PGA Junior League and other junior golf-related group programming or adult group programming on day 1
Minimum of three years of golf coaching and golf instruction experience

PGA Member or Associate
Minimum three years of experience in Teaching/Coaching
Bachelor’s Degree preferred - three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience teaching with coaching software, launch monitors, simulators, and other technology-related training tools
Compensation:
$15.00/hour ($31,200 Base Salary) + 50% Lesson Commission ($100.00/hour)
All-in estimate up to $84,000-$90,000 annually
