New City, NY| Paramount Country Club is the premier Country Club in Rockland New York. We strive to provide exceptional services and facilities with family-oriented social activities. Nestled in the heart of Rockland County, Paramount Country Club is the premier country club in New City, New York. Located a mere 35 minutes from Manhattan, this 200 acre club contains picturesque views featuring magnificent backdrops of rolling hills, breathtaking woodland scenery, majestic emerald green fairways and beautifully manicured greens.

Founded in 1920, Paramount follows a proud tradition of honoring the game of golf. Our golf course is a timeless masterpiece of rolling hills flanked by stately oaks and maples; a true embodiment of the traditions and challenges of a classic golf course.

This majestic course measures 6,724 yards from the tips (73.2 rating / 130 slope), but plays longer due to the number of elevated greens and dog legs that demand precise shot-making and a masterful understanding of course management. This is just one of the reasons Paramount has hosted prestigious qualifying tournaments such as: MGA Met Open (2011), MGA Ike Championship (2012), MGA Met Amateur (2013), USGA US Open Qualifier (2014) ,USGA US Amateur Four Ball Championship (2014) and Westchester Amateur. We anticipate hosting local and regional touraments.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Head Golf Professional at Paramount Country Club will oversee the Golf Operation with the goal of providing exceptional service throughout every area of the golf operation. Maintaining traditions of a century-old club while integrating the latest technology and industry best practices to provide the finest golf experience in the metropolitan area.

He/She should be a strong player and exceptional teacher who can lead through both excellent communications skills and playing ability. Our next Head Golf Professional will join our members at Pro-Am tournaments and represent the club in the Metropolitan PGA Section events.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

POSITION SUCCESS TRAITS |

  • Plan and execute an extensive member tournament schedule with great attention to detail in all phases to deliver a unique and memorable experience for all players.

  • Manage golf course utilization in an effort to accommodate all member demographics.

  • Develop and implement a "best in class" Junior program that will provide a balance of instruction and fun to attract juniors of all ages and keep them engaged to high school and beyond.

  • Create a starter system in which the priority is to greet members is greeted on a daily basis, informing them of daily course conditions and rules before they play.

  • Develop a "pace of play" plan that includes communicating the plan to the membership and constant enforcement.

  • Constant communication with General Manager, Food & Beverage, Facility Maintenance, Golf Course Maintenance staff on all golf operational activities that may effect other departments at the club.

  • Team player that works with other departments closely with total club performance as the ultimate goal.

  • Golf outing growth mentality including merchandising.

  • Assist in and facilitate membership acquisition.

QUALIFICATIONS

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS | To be considered for the position, the following qualifications are desired:


  • PGA or LPGA member with 3 years experience as Head Golf Professional or First Assistant at a premier club with event organization, merchandising and teaching responsibilities.

  • Heart of a Servant mentality with outstanding customer service attributes.

  • Previous experience owning the golf shop merchandising concession preferred.

  • Detail oriented with excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally in both verbal and written formats.

  • Creative spirit with a constant watch on industry best practices and the ability to implement new and fresh ideas into the golf operation.

  • Strong recruiter and leader with the ability to mentor future golf industry leaders.

  • Tech savvy Professional with the ability to utilize the latest technology for tournaments, instruction, marketing and merchandising.

Salary and Benefits

  • Base salary commensurate with experience
