With its Hale Irwin designed championship golf course, casual yet elegant clubhouse facilities, comprehensive social and athletic programs for men, women and children, Panther Creek has emerged as Springfield’s leading family club.
Panther Creek has been home to professional golf in central Illinois serving as the home of the LPGA State Farm Classic from 2007 – 2011 and currently hosts the Memorial Health Championship presented by LRS, a PGA TOUR sanctioned Korn Ferry Tour event. Panther Creek Country Club is a private, member-owned club that exists to provide and encourage a quality, family-oriented environment for recreation, relaxation, dining, and social interaction. The members of Panther Creek along with their guests can enjoy the challenges of a premier golf course in a spectacular setting. The Club strives to create a sense of community by providing members and guests with superior quality services and amenities.
Panther Creek Country Club completed a bunker renovation in 2021 and has plans to do a complete irrigation and tee renovation along with improvements to drainage on the driving range in the near future.

POSITION OVERVIEW
Job Structure
Reports to: General Manager
Supervises: Assistant Golf Professionals, Teaching Professionals, Golf Operations Staff
Collaborates with: Golf Course Superintendent, Food & Beverage Director, KornFerry Tour Staff
Participates with: Golf Committee, Greens Committee, Men’s and Women’s Golf Leagues, any other committees as assigned by the Board of Directors
General Purpose: The Head Golf Professional will lead the Golf Operation at Panther Creek Country Club and administer a program which provides an exceptional level of service to the membership, their guests, and prospective members while ensuring the policies and best interests of the Club are met and protected. The Head Golf Professional will be responsible for staffing, successful merchandising, administering a professional and efficient tournament program, and planning/implementation of women’s and junior golf programs.
Panther Creek hosts approximately 20-25 club events ranging from Member/Guest, Member/Member, Club Championship, Guest Stags, Couples Nine and Dines, Match Play, Capital Cup, Holiday Events, and 3-4 scrambles annually. The Club also hosts 10-15 outside events annually.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Providing a high level of consistent service to members and guests.
Overseeing daily golf operations and play on the course.
Promoting and coordinating the club’s complete golf program.
Hiring, training, supervising, and developing golf staff personnel.
Promoting and coordinating member tournaments and group outings.
Developing and coordinating a strong junior golf program.
Overseeing a quality merchandising program tailored to member needs.
Providing golf lessons and clinics for all skill levels.
Managing and monitoring golf operations budgets.
Managing golf car, practice range and club storage operations.
Playing golf with members of all skill levels.
Interpreting and enforcing The Rules of Golf and club policies.
Maintaining regular communication and interaction with the General Manager, department managers, golf committee, Board of Directors and membership.
PREFERRED ATTRIBUTES AND QUALIFICATIONS
Class A Member of the PGA of America or LPGA preferred.
Experience in all aspects of upscale private club golf operations.
Head Professional experience preferred.
Strong interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills.
Ability to interact with the membership and generate participation from all member segments.
Strong computer skills and ability to utilize golf related applications.
College degree preferred.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
Base salary will be $70,000-$80,000 and commensurate with experience.
Total compensation including lessons and bonuses is anticipated to be up to $110,000.
