Glenview, IL | North Shore Country Club was established in 1900 and is recognized as one of the premiere country clubs on the North Shore of Chicago. The club includes 300 regular primary golfing members and a handful of Junior, Senior, and National Memberships.
North Shore’s classically-designed C.H. Alison golf course has hosted numerous national championships including the 1928 Western Open, the 1933 U.S. Open, the 1939 and 1983 U.S. Amateur, 2011 Western Amateur, and 2023 Western Amateur. Ongoing restoration projects and the new addition of a 38,000 sq ft. 18-hole putting course showcase North Shore’s success and ongoing commitment to the future.
North Shore Country Club is a family-centric club focused on providing its Members and Guests a first-class golf experience. Our award-winning Golf Shop has won numerous sectional and national awards including the 2018 & 2021 Illinois Section Merchandiser of the Year – Private and perennial AGM Platinum Awards (2018-2020). Additionally, as a terrific walking venue, our long-standing Caddie Program has graduated numerous Evans Scholars and typically has over 100 caddies engaged during peak season.

Welcome all Members and Guests into the Golf Shop and around the club
Assist in all aspects of the Golf Operation including Golf Shop Operations, Tournament Set-Up and Execution, Club-Fitting and Instruction, Merchandising, and Outside Operations
Act as an ambassador to the Club while bringing positivity, energy, and enthusiasm daily
Display excellent communication skills to keep Club Staff, Outside Ops, and Maintenance Dept. informed about Events, Group Outings, etc.
Knowledge and familiarity with Golf Genius Tournament Software/Jonas POS Management a plus but not necessary
Support North Shore Country Club’s active junior golf programming including weekly clinics and comprehensive Golf Camp week
Able to assist the Golf Shop Manager with placing/receiving special orders throughout the season
Work closely as needed with the Caddie Master as needed to start daily play and assist with the upkeep of the staging area
Experience Required
3-5 years experience as an assistant professional at similar facilities
The selected candidate ideally shall be a Class-A PGA Member in good standing, although Golf Professionals currently within the PGA Golf Management Program or PGA Apprenticeship Program will be considered

Ideal Qualities for the Senior Assistant Professional Candidate
Dedicated to providing both Members and Guests a first-class golfing experience
A team-first player capable of multi-tasking and working in a fast-paced environment
Self-motivated and passionate about the game of golf
Professional appearance with strong communication and character traits
Organized, detail-oriented and proficient in Microsoft Office programs
Base salary of $65,000 to $75,000 (Dependent on Experience)
Lesson and Clinic income are also available to qualified candidates. Lesson rates for the Senior Assistant are billed at $140/hour. The motivated Professional capable of providing instruction at a high level has historically earned an additional average of $20,000 - $30,000 annually. This is a 12-month position with minimal reporting obligations during the off-season (January – March).
Total Compensation for a motivated Assistant is anticipated at over $105,000

One week of vacation is available to be taken during the summer months (July or August)
