The Nebraska Section PGA is a national award winning non-for-profit organization comprised of approximately 266 PGA Members and 47 PGA Associates who strive to promote the enjoyment and growth of the game of golf. The Nebraska Section PGA encompasses the entire State of Nebraska, western fifth of Iowa and a small portion of South Dakota including Dakota Dunes and Yankton. The Section office is located in Lincoln, NE and acts as a resource for local and national golf information for the golf professional and amateur player alike. Our members are often referred to as “Club Professionals”, not to be mistaken as PGA Tour Professionals. The Nebraska PGA exists to promote the enjoyment and involvement in the game of golf within the Section, and to contribute to its growth by providing services to golf professionals and the golf industry.
Title: Tournament Director

Job Description: The Nebraska Section PGA has a rich tradition with Tournament Directors progressing to the PGA TOUR, CEO’s of PGA Sections and to top Tournament Director jobs in the country. We will train you the “Nebraska Way” and move you on to bigger and better things!
The Tournament Director, under the supervision of the Managing Director, will carry out the duties proposed by the Board of Directors and CEO. This includes but is not limited to helping manage a $650,000 budget, representing the Section in all aspects of Tournament Operations and membership services.
Coordinate and conduct all tournament activity of the Nebraska PGA which consists of approximately 25 Section events, Nebraska Open, Playing Ability Tests and multiple stages of the Korn Ferry Tour Qualifying School
Assist in the preparation and management of the overall Section tournament program budget which will be monitored weekly by the Tournament Director
Create and provide detailed budget and financial report for each event on the Nebraska Section PGA Tournament calendar
Provide detailed participation analysis and benchmarking/forecasting reports
Create and manage tournament registration pages and individual event setup in BlueGolf
Manage and administer Player of the Year Points race(s)
Calculate and distribute purses within 3 business days of a Nebraska PGA Tournament
Work with the Nebraska PGA Tournament Chair and Tournament Committee to evaluate the tournament programs, implement policy, and schedule tournaments
Prepare and oversee the creation of the annual tournament schedule by February 1st of every calendar year
Coordinate with the PGA Professional, golf course superintendent and food and beverage manager for all arrangements with tournament host facilities
Establish course setup including yardages, tee locations, hole locations and marking penalty areas
Enforce Tournament Rules and Regulations, Policies and Procedures
Administer and support all on-site sponsor needs including pre-tournament set-up and post-event communications
Explore, create and develop new tournament programs and ideas that are appropriate and effective for the Nebraska PGA
Attend PGA/USGA Rules of Golf workshop(s)
Train, supervise and schedule seasonal tournament interns, Nebraska PGA Rules Officials and Volunteers
Excellent organizational skills including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Proficiency with Blue Golf Tournament Software (event management, purse management and sponsor website creation) Microsoft Office suite, G-Suite, online communication technologies and social media trends
Understanding of basic accounting, accounting procedures and budgeting
Strong interpersonal skills with an exceptional ability to communicate effectively and present information to a variety of audiences
Superb problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions independently
Strong moral character and integrity with leadership qualities
Ability to work with a broad spectrum of groups including host professionals, host superintendents, volunteers, amateur golfers, coaches, and sponsors
Ability to work in a collaborative manner with fellow administrative staff members in a team atmosphere
Ability to travel extensively throughout the Nebraska PGA including weekends/overnight stay/holidays
Score of 85 or higher on USGA/PGA Rules of Golf Workshop test preferred
POSITION/PHYSICAL CONDITIONS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is: frequently required to stand, walk, sit and work in adverse weather conditions for a long period of time. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. This position must be able to travel for extended periods of time in various modes of transportation.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to focus.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works in outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate

Base Salary: $60,000-$63,000 - Paid bi-monthly on the 7th and 22nd of each month
Retirement: Simple IRA Plan that will provide matching contribution on a pre-tax deferral on a dollar-for-dollar basis up to 3% (but not less than 1%)

Clothing allowance: $850 (this total includes use tax)
Sponsorship Commission: Approximately $3,500 annually
PAT Revenue: Approximately $2,000 annually
