Title: General Manager
Reports to: Board of Directors
Supervises: Head Golf Professional, Superintendent, Executive Chef, Office Manager, Tennis Director
Position Description: The General Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, administration, and management of all club operations. Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the General Manager provides strategic direction while delivering an exceptional member experience through operational excellence, financial stewardship, and the development of a high-performing team. The successful candidate will be a visible, relationship-driven leader committed to preserving the Club's welcoming culture while positioning Moorestown Field Club for continued long-term success.
Provide visible, engaging leadership while fostering a culture of service excellence, teamwork, accountability, and member satisfaction throughout the Club.
Direct all club operations, including golf, racquet sports, food and beverage, clubhouse activities, facilities, and member services.
Partner with the Board of Directors to execute the Club's strategic vision while maintaining appropriate governance and operational boundaries.
Lead, develop, and mentor department heads and staff, promoting professional growth, collaboration, and organizational alignment.
Oversee the Club's financial performance through budgeting, forecasting, financial controls, and long-term capital planning.
Enhance the member experience through exceptional hospitality, quality programming, and a vibrant social and dining environment.
Maintain a strong presence throughout the Club, building relationships with members, guests, employees, committees, and community stakeholders.
Guide facility improvement projects and capital initiatives that support the Club's long-term strategic objectives and member expectations.
Ensure operational excellence through effective policies, risk management practices, technology utilization, and efficient business processes.
Support membership retention and growth by promoting the Club's family-oriented culture, traditions, and value proposition.
Including, but not limited to, the following:
Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience in a private club, hospitality, or similar member-focused environment, with General Manager or senior department head experience preferred.
Demonstrated success in financial management, budgeting, and long-term strategic planning.
Strong background in food and beverage operations and delivering exceptional member experiences.
Proven ability to lead, develop, and retain high-performing teams while fostering a positive, collaborative culture.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills with experience working effectively with Boards, committees, members, and staff.
Certified Club Manager (CCM), PGA Membership, or other relevant professional designation is preferred, but not required.
Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
The club will provide a compensation and benefits package commensurate with experience and qualifications. This includes but is not limited to:
Base Salary Range: $115,000-$125,000
Performance Bonus Range: 5-15% of Base Salary
