Position Description: The Head Golf Professional plays a pivotal role in ensuring the satisfaction and happiness of club members through a welcoming attitude and innovative ideas that resonate well with the established culture. Successful fulfillment of responsibilities involves ensuring member happiness by maintaining a comfortable atmosphere and garnering positive feedback regarding new initiatives and changes. A smooth transition, characterized by seamless handovers and enhanced yet stable operations, particularly in pro shop management and tournament experiences, is essential. High engagement and strong interaction across all skill levels help maintain the spirit of Mill River's golf culture. Regular daily communication with the superintendent on course set-up, tournament scheduling, starting times, and related operational details further ensures a coordinated and consistent member experience.
Success in this role also involves infusing new energy into the club with fresh ideas, such as fun events and improved merchandising, while planning for future goals and events. Strong leadership and communication skills are crucial, as these foster respect and admiration from members and ensure cohesive operations throughout the club. The head professional's ability to lead with clarity and respect further defines success in this role. With the current Head Golf Professional retiring, the club is proud of its tradition of longevity in this position and looks forward to continuing that legacy with the next professional.

Teaching / Instructional Programming
Proper management of the Practice Area is important for the overall success of the Golf Operation of Mill River. The practice facility is located across the property from the first tee and requires appropriate oversight and management to ensure proper usage. Appropriate clinic and instructional offerings with respect to the available space would be welcomed for increased member engagement and satisfaction, including but not limited to junior golf.
Merchandising
Maintaining appropriate merchandising offerings within an organized, welcoming environment is important. The Golf Professional will be responsible for owning and operating the merchandise offering at Mill River.
Including, but not limited to, the following:
Class A PGA Member in good standing
Minimum of 5 Years of experience, preferably in a Private Facility setting
A verifiable record of the development of staff and intuitive mentoring is considered a plus.
Proficient in Point of Sale systems, Microsoft Office, and any other appropriate applications that effectively enhance the operation and member golf experience.
The club will provide a compensation and benefits package commensurate with experience and qualifications.
