Stafford, VA | The Middle Atlantic PGA Section (MAPGA), located in Stafford, Virginia, is one of 41 Sections of the Professional Golfers' Association of America. The PGA of America, formed in 1916, has grown into the world's largest working sports organization, with over 27,000 members and associates. Its mission is to promote enjoyment and involvement in the game of golf and to contribute to the game's growth by providing services to golf professionals and the industry. The MAPGA has been a part of the PGA since 1925, comprising approximately 1,100 golf professionals in Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, DC.
Title: Director of Business Affairs
Position Description: The Middle Atlantic PGA is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Director of Business Affairs to spearhead our efforts in securing and implementing Section sponsorships while also overseeing the association's financial management. Additional duties include event management, including tournaments and/or meetings/banquets; direct and indirect responsibility for Section publications; and member relations. Measures for success will include year-to-year progress in Sponsorship monies raised, event success, and financial performance.
Partner acquisition & Retention: Identify, research, and acquire potential partners and sponsors that align with MAPGA’s values and objectives.
Work with the Assistant Executive Director to serve as a clearinghouse for all tournament and Section sponsorships. Entails meeting with sponsors, maintaining sponsorship files and spreadsheets, tailoring sponsorship packages, writing contracts, invoicing, and attending tournaments to serve as sponsor liaison.
Attend the PGA Merchandise Show annually to help solicit sponsorships.
Follow-up to ensure MAPGA and MAPGA Partners meet all Contract elements.
Work with National Accounting contact to invoice any accounts receivable (sponsors, etc.), as well as monthly reports on the financial status of the Section.
Reconcile projects/accounts and provide journal entries to National for any necessary adjustments.
Oversee the Section Credit Card bills to include coding, matching receipts, and submitting for payment.
Monitor staff use of Section credit cards to ensure policies are being adhered to.
Responsible for the Annual Budget in conjunction with the Executive Director and Assistant Executive Director.
Assist PGA REACH Middle Atlantic Foundation in fundraising activities.
Monitor overall expenditures and look for ways to streamline spending and increase efficiency.
Participate in MAPGA Hall of Fame Process/Awards Banquet as needed.
Represent Section at various allied association functions at the direction of the Executive Director.
Serve as liaison to the Communications Manager position and assist sponsorship fulfillment in all Section publications: MAPGA Directory, News & Notes, E-Newsletter, Hall of Fame Program, and Biography Book.
Create and update Sales Rep and Sponsor directories. Update Directories online when changes occur.

Responsible for creating, managing, and maintaining Section budgets with the direction of the Executive Director. Manage National accounting team concerning Section monthly and annual Financials.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is: frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. This position must be able to travel for extended periods of time in various modes of transportation.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works in outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
The employee must be able to drive the company vehicle/van and/or drive to and from various locations throughout the Section.

Bachelor’s degree (B.A. /B.S.) in Business Administration, Marketing or related field.
Golf Administration and tournament operations experience preferred.
Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills are required.
PGA Member or Apprentice preferred.
Starting salary range of $60,000 - $70,000, depending on experience and qualifications
