Kennett Square, PA | Founded in 1922, Kennett Square Golf & Country Club (KSG&CC) is situated on 135 acres in the rolling hills of Chester County, PA. KSG&CC hosted many successful events in 2022 to commemorate our centennial. A very well maintained and challenging Donald Ross designed golf course and a robust professionally led golf program catering to both dedicated golfers and families.
Excellent tennis, paddle, and swimming facilities with well-organized and professionally led interclub and intra club competitive and recreational racquets and swimming programs.
A pleasant dining and beverage service that is continuing to adjust over time to meet changing member and family dining needs.
Material improvements to the Club’s physical plant. Recent investments include substantial rebuilds to pool and racquets facilities in 2005, ongoing substantial investments in modern grounds maintenance equipment, an environmentally stream restoration project in 2011, a renovated kitchen facility and the “1922” bar area in 2014, a new expansive patio and renovated Ballroom in 2020, a year-round paddle hut and bunker renovation project in 2021, and a complete renovation of the Clubhouse main floor F&B areas in 2022.
MISSION
Kennett Square Golf & Country Club strives to provide a friendly and comfortable social and recreational haven for its members, families, and guests. Offering golf, racquet sports, and swimming, opportunities abound for good-natured sporting challenges and lessons with the area’s top sports professionals. Outstanding facilities and service for dining and club social events along with banquet facilities for entertaining guests or business colleagues give KSGCC a welcoming, yet exclusive atmosphere.

Golf: Donald Ross 18-hole classic designed golf course, extraordinarily well maintained and environmentally friendly. The par 71 golf course is characterized by rolling terrain, mature tree-lined fairways, and carefully tended greens. More than 80 bunkers, numerous elevations, and strategically located water hazards will test golfers of all abilities.

Title: Clubhouse General Manager
Reports to: Board of Governors
The Clubhouse General Manager (CGM) will have responsibility for all day-to-day clubhouse operations of Kennett Square Golf & Country Club. He/she will direct and administer all aspects of the clubhouse operations to include amenities, and staff to ensure outstanding service and member and guest satisfaction.
He/she is responsible for the financial and operational stability of the club and other internal and external activities. Duties include working with the Board of Governors, tracking progress in implementing strategic directives, managing staff, focusing on maintaining quality facilities, safety, and services year-round.
The Clubhouse General Manager must possess a keen financial and technology / system acumen with the ability to maintain the Club’s strong operating performance, along with balancing strategic capital investments into its amenities, programming, and services. Innovation and creativity with a “continuous‐improvement management” philosophy is a desired cornerstone for the Club’s operation and a critical success factor for the future. Making thoughtful strategic recommendations to the Board of Governors related to operational and capital areas of investment (or divestment) grounded in data and industry trends is a key function of this position. The successful candidate will possess a sincere passion for excellence and a dedication to providing an exceptional and natural welcoming environment for its members, families, and guests.

Ability to anticipate the needs of the membership and smoothly transition operations using his/her management skills to reach and maintain a superior and consistent level of service while meeting members expectations.
Ability to set goals and execute them successfully, as well as being able to initiate change, bring the department heads together and increase the service level at the club.
Financial and business acumen with the ability to set and work within a budget while effectively maximizing revenues. Must have effective financial management skills through oversight and development of annual operating and capital budgets. Must report on Kennett Square Golf & Country Club financial performance benchmarked against the Club’s strategic objectives, as well as regional/national club industry targets.
Sincere and consistent member and staff engagement. Being highly visible, interactive, and engaging, and knowing how to balance administrative functions with key engagement opportunities.
Must have the knowledge and ability to work with other departments (golf, grounds (golf course maintenance), and racquets).
The ability to lead, recruit and retain talented, engaged, and motivated staff, empowering the labor force as merited and ensuring employees respond with agility to changed strategic directives.

Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
A minimum of 3-5 years of progressive leadership/management experience in (preferably) a private member-owned country club with multi-dimensional operations, or leading hospitality operations outside of the club industry in a similar hospitality operation.
A Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year university or college is highly desirable, preferably in Hospitality Management.
From the club industry, Certified Club Manager (CCM) designation is desired, but not required. If without such designation, a commitment to on-going and lifelong learning and robust networking capabilities is critical. If outside of the traditional CMAA background, having verifiable professional development that provides confidence in one’s ability to lead one of the top clubs in the country.
