Location is key, and Hunters Run is ideally located on the east coast in the Delray/Boynton Beach, Florida area just minutes away from beaches. Cultural attractions, shopping, and dining from Boca Raton on the south to Palm Beach on the north are convenient as are three major airports: Palm Beach, Fort Lauderdale and Miami.
This mandatory membership private club community founded in 1979 encompasses 990 lush acres in the sought-after South Palm Beach region. There are 23 distinct neighborhoods, each possessing a unique and intimate feel with everything from condominiums, townhouses, villas, single-family, and estate homes. Twenty-four-hour manned security gates ensure the property is vigilantly patrolled, which adds to the feeling of sanctuary for residents at Hunters Run.
The days at Hunters Run start early with a bustling array of daily activities including championship golf, racquet sports, wellness classes, and swimming in a temperature-controlled, newly renovated resort-style pool. The Club has an understated elegance and welcoming atmosphere, promoting a stress-free lifestyle that gives everyone the feeling of comfort and a sense of familial belonging.
The Club’s Vision is that “Hunters Run is dedicated to excellence” and is focused on excelling as one of the finest private clubs in the country. This is accomplished with an experienced Management Team, enthusiastic employees, and by offering exceptional amenities including three meticulously maintained 18-hole golf courses - each recently modernized and renovated presenting a challenge for every level of golfer. An expansive practice facility features special short-game areas and two driving ranges with one of them dedicated for members only. The golf team manages a full slate of events as well as clinics, lessons, and a well-stocked golf shop.
Hunters Run has hosted numerous qualifying events, such as the PGA Regional Tour, the U.S. Senior Tour, the U.S.G.A. Junior Tour, and the U.S. Open local qualifying round.
Club life centers around the spacious 145,000-square-foot clubhouse. This is the heart of the indoor activities and social scene including the Fitness Center which offers the latest machines, personal trainers, classes in yoga, Tai Chi, Barre, and more. Housed in the Clubhouse are 7 restaurant venues featuring fine cuisine to casual fare. A full service spa and salon provides expert services from massage and manicure to facial and hair care. The Lodge, in the clubhouse, provides 18 spacious guest rooms for guests and family members.
Adjacent to the clubhouse is the spectacular pool area, with a walk-in saltwater infinity pool, kids’ pool, hot tub, fire pit, and Splash Bar. Just steps away is the outdoor “Atrium” where members can have drinks, pizza, ice cream and light fare while enjoying the giant 16-screen video wall and frequently scheduled live entertainment.
A short walking distance from the Club is the Racquet Sports Center. With 18 Har-Tru tennis courts and 12 USAPA Pickleball courts, Hunters Run has one of the most dynamic and innovative racquet sports programs in Florida. Members at all skill levels enjoy a full range of activities year-round.

Initiation fee - $85,000 (non-refundable) along with a $1,000 initial capital contribution fee (70% of which is refundable)
Annual dues for the full Golf Membership is $14,935, Racquet Sports is $13,330, and Social Membership is $12,474
Annual F&B Minimum - $1,400 for family and $1,050 for single
Approximately 100,000 rounds of golf annually

Annual Dues Revenue of approximately $20.3M
F&B Volume – approximately $6.4M with most of that from ala carte dining, and inclusive of gratuity charges and unspent minimums

Average age of membership – 76; the average age of new members joining is 65. There are a total of 17 Board Members, each serving three-year terms
There are a number of standing committees, several of which meet frequently, including Audit, Budget & Finance, Government & Community Relations, Elections, Entertainment & Arts, Fitness & Pool, Food & Beverage, Golf Operations, Grievance, House, Legal, Membership, Real Estate, Security, Strategic Planning, and Racquet Sports.
The Club uses NorthStar for its accounting and POS.
The Director of Golf at Hunters Run has full responsibility for successfully managing a complex, multi-course golf operation, and reports directly to the General Manager / COO. In leading the golf operations team, the Director of Golf will be representative of modern management “best service and member experience” practices, while promoting a positive, engaging, responsive, highly competent, and anticipatory service culture.
The Director of Golf is expected to be highly visible and engaging, possess a strong financial acumen, and is adept at building a high-performing team to whom he/she can delegate responsibility and hold accountable. All this should be done with a sincere, integrity-filled, hands-on style, recognizing the need to be the “face” of Hunters Run both internally and in the external greater Palm Beach County club community.
The Director of Golf must be a proactive part in achieving the vision of Hunters Run by staying at the forefront of golf and trends and innovation. He/she will have exceptional financial acumen with a proven record of budget development and outstanding fiscal management.
Additionally, The Director of Golf will have a broad network for talent acquisition and retention and will have a proven record of mentoring and advancing prior staff. Besides the golf operation, the Director of Golf will be integral in collaborating with the Membership Director on membership recruitment and orientation, and membership activities/services programming, ensuring that each of these areas of focus considers current and future membership input and demographics.
Learn the make-up and “pulse” of Hunters Run; its strengths and its weaknesses and develop a strong vision and plan to quickly enhance and elevate the golf operations and move in the future to be relevant, competitive, and highly desirable.
Spend time with and share your thoughts transparently with the General Manager, Superintendent, and leadership team, building trust with each of these key constituency groups before instituting drastic changes.
Meet and sincerely interact with and engage as many members as possible.
Spend time with the current golf operations team, getting to know them, their abilities, and aspirations, consistently using this time to further communicate the vision and mission of Hunters Run.
Understand if and how processes and procedures have been developed, if in place and being followed, and whether or not they are appropriate or in need of modification.
Develop relationships with the Board and Committees, working to create a strong bond and encouraging open communication.
If unfamiliar, visit other local club communities to see what they are doing in terms of amenities, programming, activities, etc.
Hunters Run is in an extremely competitive staff competition environment from both other clubs and growing businesses. Maintaining or improving this staff's competitive edge has been a big part of Hunters Run’s success; ensuring that it continues to be a differentiator is critical.
A minimum of five years of progressive leadership as a Director of Golf at a private, member-owned club, with oversight of multiple golf courses is required.
EDUCATIONAL AND CERTIFICATION QUALIFICATIONS
Must be a Class A PGA or LPGA Professional in good standing
PGA Certified Professional or Master Professional credentials preferred
Must have A BS or BA degree (or experience equivalent) from an accredited college or university
Must be knowledgeable about the South Florida Market
Must be a respectable player
Salary is open and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
