Gull Lake is a member owned private facility that includes Golf, Tennis, Dining, Yacht Club & Sailing, Platform Tennis, and a new TrackMan studio. This par 72 design is immaculately maintained, and consistently known to have some of the best greens in southwest Michigan. Gull lake Country Club has 225 golf members playing around 10,000 rounds annually and remains one of the very few clubs that do not require tee times. Title: PGA / LPGA Head Golf Professional
Reports To: Director of Golf
Supervises: Golf Operations Staff, Golf Assistants
Gull Lake Country Club is seeking a PGA or LPGA Head Golf Professional to direct all aspects of the golf operation in collaboration with the Director of Golf. To assist in managing all areas of the golf operation including budgeting, scheduling, and the daily member services.
An ideal candidate will have a warm and outgoing personality, great staff and member communication skills, and the ability and desire to grow their golf game along with the members.
Promoting a positive collaborative service culture for all golf employees
Playing golf with members of all skill levels
Participate in chapter, section, and national golf tournaments
Developing and managing the entire junior golf and PGA Junior League
Assist in enforcing the clubs Rules and Regulations
Promoting and coordinating member tournaments and (4-6) outside events
Management of the first tee and tee sheet for a non-tee time club
Overseeing daily golf operations and practice facilities
Assist in establishing and maintaining annual and monthly budgets
Assist in maintaining an award-winning boutique golf shop
Supervising, training, and evaluating all subordinate golf staff employees
Provide the highest level of service to members and guests
Create a top shelf golf operation for all members and guests
PGA or LPGA class A member in good standing
Minimum of three years of experience as a PGA Head or Assistant Professional at a private member owned club of similar or larger size is preferred
Strong time management and leadership skills
Comfortable with current teaching technologies
Comfortable with Golf Genius tournament program is preferred
A skilled instructor with the ability to balance club needs and instruction time
A player who personifies professionalism on and off the golf course
Assisting with merchandising, inventory controls, ordering and receiving for an award-winning boutique golf shop (2020 Merchandiser of the year - Private)Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong management skills including budgeting, merchandise
management, tournament operations, and instruction
Delegation skills to develop a golf department consistent with the direction of the club
Salary will be competitive for the market and commensurate with experience.
