ABOUT GLENWILD GOLF CLUB & SPA

PARK CITY, UTAH | Glenwild was planned and developed to be one of the finest private golf club experiences in the country. Designed by Tom Fazio, this 7,564-yard, par-71 championship course challenges players of all levels while complementing the breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. With superb routing, awe-inspiring scenery, and a fine staff of caddies, the course features a meandering creek with a series of lakes and shot values that enhance its playability and scenic appeal, ensuring that it will become known as one of the finest golf courses in the country. Sitting approximately 10 minutes from the heart of Park City, and 25 minutes from the Salt Lake City airport, Glenwild is a very accessible escape into the mountains.

Glenwild opened for play in 2001. Membership is limited to 325, and is currently at its capacity. Only golf members, and accompanied guests may play the course. The club enjoys a full caddie program. Glenwild is an exceptional golf club for those who want to be part of something special in the Park City area. Glenwild's Practice Facility is currently under a complete renovation with plans to be completed by early summer, with the short game area finishing in the Fall.

POSITION OVERVIEW


Position Type: Seasonal - mid-May through mid/late-September

(2023 projected start mid-June due to practice facility renovation)


General Purpose:

To develop, maintain, and manage a premier Teaching Program that meets the instructional needs of the Members of Glenwild Golf Club. Requirements will include the planning, promotion and creation of a program that will continuously develop the Glenwild memberships' golfing abilities and enjoyment of the game. The Director of Instruction position is a great seasonal opportunity to spend summer in the beautiful area of Park City, Utah, at a club that has a dedicated golfing culture.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Assure quality service and instructional programs.

  • Schedule and coordinate all instructional programs and lessons at Glenwild Golf Club

  • Provide high quality club fittings and be efficient with equipment sales.

  • Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively to all students.

  • Must be able to work with students of all abilities and be able to adapt to individual physical limitations.

  • Supervise the upkeep of the teaching tee and surrounding area to ensure that safe, clean, organized, and professional conditions exist daily.

  • Maintain teaching aids and demo/fitting club inventory in excellent condition.

  • Train and Mentor the Glenwild Golf Professionals on golf instruction, specifically the latest teaching philosophies and fundamentals as well as club fitting.

  • Utilize state of the art teaching and learning theories and be able to integrate the use of teaching aids, including video analysis and trackman, when appropriate.

  • Knowledge of physical fitness as a key performance factor in the enjoyment of golf and achievement of golf goals.

  • Play golf with members of all ability levels when time permits

  • Develop and maintain a regular schedule of availability for instruction during the season. Utilizing the Golf Professionals to assist in scheduling lessons/clinics.

  • Always conduct oneself in a professional manner and maintain a professional image.

  • Be informed on and promote all club activities and services.

  • Maintain a close working relationship with the Golf Staff as well as all Club Departments.

  • Provide publication material for newsletters, website, and information boards as necessary.

  • Adhere to all Club and Golf Department related policies and procedures.

  • Represent Glenwild Golf Club in a professional manner when attending or presenting at Teaching Seminars, magazine photo shoots, when publishing articles for print, or playing in tournaments.

  • Attend conferences, workshops, meetings, and trade shows to keep abreast of current trends in the industry.

PREFERRED ATTRIBUTES & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Two year or four-year college degree preferred

  • PGA Member and or LPGA Member (in good standing)

  • Top 40 Under 40, or Top 100 Golf Instructor (preferred but not required)

  • High End Private Golf Club Teaching Experience

  • Extensive experience in golf instruction and player development programs

  • Strong background in club fitting and knowledge of current manufacturers offerings preferred

  • Self-Motivated, Self-Promoter

  • Ability to provide high quality guest service skills.

  • Strong verbal communication, written communication, and organizational skills

  • Computer skills and ability to utilize current teaching technology required

Practice Facility Renovation Plan

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

  • The base salary for this position is $2,500 per two-week pay period. Additional income earned as follows:

  • Commission Phase 1: 90/10% split of first $40K

  • Commission Phase 2: 100% of all lessons over $40K

  • Clinics: 75/25%

  • Lesson Rates: Lesson Rates will be set based on experience.

  • Projected first season instruction income $60,000+

  • The total compensation is projected to be $80,000+ for the 4 month engagement in the first year with significant opportunity for growth.
