The Head Professional is a strong leader and guardian of the golf operation, serving as an Ambassador to the Members, guests, and the surrounding community. He/she is a collaborator, teacher and mentor to staff, and creates an enthusiastic and cohesive team dedicated to delivering the highest level of customer service.
The Head Professional at Forsyth Country Club will have the experience and knowledge to build a premier golf operation and strong team in accordance with the expectations of the Chief Operating Officer and Members.
Is highly visible, engaging, and personable with an emphasis on anticipating and communicating member and guest needs.
Collaborates daily with all department heads, specifically the COO and Golf Course Superintendent.
Service minded leader with an outgoing communication style that fosters team buy in.
Builds a strong, cohesive team through motivation, empowerment, and continuing education.
Forward-thinking visionary who works tirelessly to expand and grow the game of golf through implementation of fun and exciting programming.
Operates a quality golf merchandise concession, catering to the desires and needs of the Members.
Develop and manage the fiscal responsibilities for all golf areas including planning, forecasting, budget development, management and taking corrective measures with the approval of the COO.
Must be an excellent communicator and will send regular emails and golf event notifications to ensure members are informed of upcoming events and activities.
Responsible for hiring, training, and evaluations of all golf operations employees per established policies and procedures.
Attend all Golf & Green Committee meetings and partner with the volunteer leaders to ensure success of key initiatives.
Collaborate with the Men’s & Women’s Golf Associations to create the annual golf calendar.
Design and implement staff performance strategies that promote a positive workplace, enhance key employee retention, and improve overall employee satisfaction.
Take initiative in communicating with all department heads on daily activities.
Create and implement exciting tournaments and instructional programs to increase Member and guest participation.
Develop and maintain vendor relationships to increase loyalty, improve Club purchasing capabilities, and continually enhance the Club’s reputation.
Maintains a professional image within the club and the Carolinas PGA Section.
The Head Golf Professional will report to the General Manager / Chief Operating Officer.
Class A, PGA Member in good standing
Bachelor’s Degree or experience equivalent
Previous experience as a Head Professional or Director of Golf at a premier, private facility preferred
A verifiable career track that demonstrates a record of effective leadership and commitment
Excellent interpersonal communication skills in both written and verbal formats
