Fore Seasons Golf Club aims to provide the ultimate virtual golf experience for the advanced, intermediate, and beginner golf community. Fore Seasons Golf Club will also serve as a socially welcoming environment for the surrounding area.
Title: Director of Instruction
Reports to: Fore Seasons Golf Club Ownership
Supervises: Teaching Professionals
Position Overview: The Director of Instruction is responsible for organizing, budgeting, developing, promoting, scheduling, and conducting golf instructional programs that meet the members’ interests, demands, and needs. He/she is responsible for all facets of golf instruction that takes place on Club property including daily clinics, private instruction, junior golf programs, PGA Jr. League, and club fitting.
Build an exceptional teaching program by keeping current on game-improving technology and equipment.
Develop, provide, and oversee an enhanced golf instruction program offering individual and group clinics for all levels. Ensure that the services of a well-trained staff of professional instructors are available where required.
Focus on programs for women, families, seniors, and juniors (local marketing) using available programs provided by the PGA of America.
Create community outreach programs with local residents, schools, and colleges.
Develop Player Development marketing.
Grow and achieve target lessons given.
Recruit, hire, train, motivate, and supervise all golf department staff.
Ensure evaluations and annual reviews are completed and recorded for all applicable staff.
Attend staff meetings as scheduled by management and schedule staff meetings with golf operations personnel.
Update and maintain golf shop policies and procedures and job descriptions and ensure they are adhered to and posted in the proper areas.
Maintain safety standards and safety equipment within OSHA requirements.
Assist in the publications of newsletters / Blogs, informational, and promotional materials.
Work closely with and provide guidance and consultation with all golf committees.
Adhere to, enforce, and implement policies and procedures of the facility.
Set up regular written communication with supervisor to include facility, programming, staff, and customer updates.
Create and implement exciting tournaments and programming.
Effectively communicate with the members, promoting new merchandise arrivals, written correspondence in newsletters, upcoming events, event winners, and highlighting accomplishments of staff.
Monitor and keep track of golf simulator maintenance and upkeep.
Responsible for the financial and operational performance of the golf shop operations and golf services.
Ensure all financial goals and objectives are being achieved.
Assist in the development and preparation of budgets, including forecasting and review of all golf operations revenues and expenses on a daily, weekly, monthly, and annual basis.
Ensure systems controls are in place to safeguard assets, revenues, and resources.
In keeping with facility goals, utilize yield management techniques to maximize simulator usage.
May be assigned golf cart driver duties which will require a valid driver’s license.

Knowledge, Skills, and Traits
Maintain PGA of America Membership in good standing in an active classification
Expertise in instruction, the game, and the business of golf, as well as a demonstrated love for the game of golf.

Incumbents are required to read, write, and speak English fluently.

Experienced computer user including: Microsoft Word and Excel and POS systems. Proficient in other applications, i.e. email, internet, tournament and database
Work Environment
The work environmental characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing essential job functions. Reasonable accommodation may be provided to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functions. The general office environment includes a simulated golf course. Some stress may occur in meeting development deadlines. Must read and/or write effectively in English. Mental stamina and must speak English effectively to communicate with clients/customers and fellow workers. Use a computer-type system for up to 65% of each day. Must be able to lift heavy trays of food/drinks and carry them 100 feet. Must be able to lift, push or pull 30lbs. Must be able to lift over 50 lbs. with assistance. This position requires standing well over 90% of the shift. Incumbents need to walk and swing a golf club for a majority of the workday.
Including, but not limited to, the following:
Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent experience.
PGA Member in good standing.
1 plus years’ POS systems experience.
Bilingual a plus.
Certifications Preferred:
TPI level 1
TPI Golf Coach level 2 & 3
K Vest Certified
Bodi Track Certified
Trackman Certified
The facility will provide compensation and benefits package commensurate with experience and qualifications. This includes but is not limited to:
Base pay: $60,000 salary per year (based on experience)
Lessons: $65 per hour lesson
PGA Membership Annual Dues
