Founded in 1958, Fairmount Country Club is a private, members-only club located in Chatham, New Jersey. This invitation only, family orientated club. has a all the best attributes of a historic club and features a variety of amenities for the entire family including:
18 hole Hal Purdy designed par 72 golf course
Driving range and short game area
Well stocked golf and tennis pro shop's
Four tennis courts
Four paddle courts, with a fifth being added in the next month
A traditional clubhouse where regularly scheduled social events are held
Fairmount continues to reinvest in it's bright future including the construction of a new aquatic center in 2019 featuring:

Fairmount Country Club offers its members a bounty of amenities. The course is challenging, scenic, and home to some of New Jersey's best putting surfaces. The Club also offers tennis programs, league play, and high caliber professional instruction in both tennis and paddle. In the summer months the Club offers golf, swimming, and tennis clinics for juniors and adult players of all levels.

POSITION DESCRIPTION
Fairmount Country Club is seeking an established, dynamic, energetic, innovative, and visible General Manager to enhance the current Member Experience. The Club has a great vision, culture, and long-range plan and needs an experienced General Manager to help guide the membership into the future.
Qualified candidates will thrive in a hospitality environment focused on member engagement, staff leadership, and innovative program designed to enhance the fun, family, and friendly nature of Fairmount.
The position will manage all aspects of the club including all activities and relationships between the club and its Board of Governors, members, guests, employees, community, government, and industry. The successful candidate will report to the Club President and Board of Governors. The position currently supervises an excellent team of department heads in golf, agronomy, tennis, and paddle as well as a clubhouse manager, food and beverage director, controller, director of facilities, membership director, human resources director, head of purchasing, as well as an administrative assistant. The club employs a total of 85 staff in season

The club is in search of a visionary leader with a minimum tenure of 7-10 years
Visible leader available to both members and staff
Ability to recruit, train, educate, a team on providing an outstanding member experience and enhanced member engagement
Governance leadership experience serving as a true thought partner to the Board and Committees
Prepares and monitors annual budget, revenue goals and expenses, and generating various (weekly, monthly, etc.) business volume forecasts.
Monitors financial reports/statements daily, weekly, and monthly basis for the facility and takes effective corrective action when necessary.
Establishes, initiates, and monitors basic personnel policies and training along with professional development programs.
Ensures all Human Resources procedures and policies are followed by management staff.
Develops, maintains and administers a sound organizational plan and initiates improvements as necessary.
Maintains membership with the PGA and/or CMAA and other professional associations.
Attends workshops and meetings to keep abreast of current information and developments.
Oversees the care and maintenance of all the facility's physical assets.
Coordinates marketing programs to promote the facility's services to potential customers.
Ensures the highest standards for food and beverage products and service on property.
Implements policies and procedures for multiple departments, including compliance of all company standards relating to the quality of products and services.
Responsible for interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, and directing work, evaluating performance, rewarding, and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Assures that effective orientation and training are given to each new associate and coordinates ongoing training programs.
Regular, reliable, and visible attendance
Demonstrates accountability for all club functions to both internal and external stakeholders
Follows all Club Bylaws and policies and procedures
Bachelor's degree (BA) from four-year college or university with a hospitality degree preferred ; and five years' experience at a member owned private club as a GM or Assistant GM; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

A visible, high energy, dynamic leader with a skill set to lead nearly 100 associates and oversee all club operations
Proven history of strong financial performance and acumen
Extensive food & beverage experience to oversee a high-volume bar, dining and catering operations
Strong organizational, communication, interpersonal and leadership skills required
An entrepreneurial approach to marketing and technology that has enhanced past club's through innovation
Experience with capital/facilities renovation projects
Strong verbal / written communication skills
Proficient in managing department heads in various golf course functions with experience in leading long tenured staff preferred
Successful history of leading/directing the employee recruiting, hiring, onboarding, training and development process for all club functions
