Dedham, MA | Dedham Country & Polo Club is an 18-hole private, member-owned Club with approximately 500 members. Founded in 1887 it is one of the oldest private country clubs in Massachusetts, the Dedham Country and Polo Club (DCPC) has enjoyed a vibrant and active membership since its inception. With a rich and storied past, DCPC is a premier, family-centered country club that offers members a wide range of recreational activities and social events. The recently restored Seth Raynor golf course anchors the 167-acre campus of rolling, rural terrain, and is the only Raynor course in Massachusetts. In addition to being home to one of the most extensive racquet programs in the State, DCPC offers swimming, trap shooting, ice skating, and a robust juniors program to its membership. The golf course plays host to approximately 22,500 rounds annually. Dedham was recently named to Golf Digest Best in State 21/22 rankings.
Position: Merchandise Director | Golf Professional
Reports to: Director of Golf
General Purpose: The Merchandise Director will oversee the entire Club retail operations at Dedham Country and Polo Club. Including Golf, Tennis soft goods, Pool and Shooting. Dedham’s goal is to create a retail experience that exceeds our member’s and guest’s expectations.
Lead Merchandiser for all Professional Shops
Oversee and establish a buying plan for all of the Professional Shops
Inventory management & control
Accounts payables/member & event billing
Online store management
Merchandise check-in/re-Stocking
Lead role in Golf communications to the Club
Responsible for all office administration for the Golf Shop
Responsible for special project merchandise orders and follow through.
Work within established branding guidelines on all products.
Lead planning and ordering of all Club event gifts
Utilize event logos in coordination with Club logo per branding guidelines.
Meet with vendors to view upcoming product lines and source new vendor merchandise
Create and change visual displays and adapt them to seasons or holidays
Attend national PGA and local PGA merchandise shows
Stay on top of new merchandise trends and fashions
Investigate new promotions, trunk shows, and special sales outlets
Schedule and organize product/apparel training sessions for Golf Shop staff
Coordinate uniform buying for all departments of the Club
Coordinate clothing allowance ordering for staff
Support the golf operation as appropriate based on club events/needs
Be able to work closely and effectively with all of Golf Shop staff and Professional staff
Teaching and Junior Golf if applicable
Assist in Club golf tournaments and events if applicable
PGA/LPGA Class A preferred but may be a PGA/LPGA Associate
Previous experience in upscale or similar private club golf operations
Ability to communicate well verbally and in writing.
Ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions.
Ability to interact professionally and maintain effective working relationships with management, co-workers and member
Dedham Country and Polo Club will offer a compensation package commensurate with the successful candidate’s experience and reflective of the stature of the position and facility.
This includes but is not limited to:
Competitive Base Salary $55,000 - $65,000 - Base salary offer will be commensurate with skill-set and experience
Total Compensation projected to be $85,000 - $90,000 based on additional income from Lessons, Shop Sales Bonus and Holiday Bonus
Employee will be eligible to enroll in the Club's health care benefits (medical and dental)
Employee will be eligible for the club 401k program
