ABOUT DAYTON COUNTRY CLUB
Dayton, OH | Located south of downtown Dayton, DCC is situated on a 126-acre oasis just minutes from the center of the city. Amenities at Dayton Country Club feature an 18-hole Donald Ross-designed golf course and driving range with short game practice facilities, including an indoor teaching facility for lessons during inclement weather. The golf facilities also provide a full-service pro shop, managed by our team of PGA Golf Professionals, and complete locker room services.
Our two outdoor swimming pools offer summer activities from Memorial Day to Labor Day. The pool facilities are complete with a bathhouse, a full-service outdoor dining area as well as an outdoor bar and concessions area. Complete with a diving well and basketball court, the pool facilities at DCC rival those of any other local private club. For tennis enthusiasts, we provide four Har-Tru tennis courts with activities for both adults and juniors and two platform tennis courts.
Built in 1910, our 54,000 sq. foot clubhouse offers Members and guests a wealth of dining opportunities, including; a golfers' Grille, dining rooms, and our very popular South Terrace which offers seasonal dining along with breathtaking views of the golf course. All offer a casual and family-friendly atmosphere, spacious locker rooms, and a generously equipped fitness facility. Lastly, our banquet facilities are available for both Member and Member sponsored use. Whether you are hosting a small business meeting, or that very special occasion for 300 of your closest family and friends, Dayton Country Club provides the most complete private event space in the area.
The Dayton Country Club golf course was designed by world-renowned golf course architect, Donald Ross. With unique changes in elevation, players will find themselves immersed in the spectacular scenery that surrounds our meticulous golf course. While it is a pleasure to play, it presents a unique set of challenges for golfers at every skill level.
At Dayton Country Club there is a golfing experience for the whole family. Complementing a very active event schedule for both our Men's and Women's Golf Associations, our junior golf program allows children the opportunity to receive both private and group instruction along with true playing experiences. Home to the Dayton Country Club Stallions, our PGA Junior Golf Program is unquestionably the area's leader in junior golf.

POSITION OVERVIEW
Title: Head Golf Professional
Reports to: General Manager/COO
Supervises: Assistant Golf Professionals, Golf Shop Manager, Outside Services - 3 year-round, 4 full-time seasonal and 16 part-time seasonal employees
Position Description: The Head Golf Professional manages all golf and golf-related activities and businesses including: managing the golf shop and driving range, supervising professional staff, enforcing club rules and regulations, overseeing the club’s handicap system, providing competent golf instruction for all levels of players, supervising the rental and maintenance of golf cars, and reporting activities of the department to the Golf Committee.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Plans, promotes, and directs all golf activities including daily management responsibilities.
Prepares annual and monthly budgets, forecasts, and reviews for golf operations; takes corrective actions as needed to keep departments on budget
Orders merchandise for golf shop and provides the best selection possible, while maintaining appropriate inventory levels and turnover rates
Orders supplies associated with golf activities.
Maintains an attractive, orderly appearance in the pro shop.
Selects, supervises, trains, and evaluates outside golf operations, pro shop, locker room, golf range, golf bag, and club storage employees.
Provides golf lessons to members and guests.
Creates interesting, relevant, and engaging golf programs that evolve with member influences.
Plays golf with members of all skill levels.
Designs and conducts golf clinics.
Plans professional development and training activities for subordinates.
Designs and conducts junior golf clinics and training programs.
Ensures all appropriate charges and fees for all golf-related activities are billed, correctly and accurately
Organizes and conducts club tournaments and related events.
Interprets and enforces golf rules and regulations.
Interprets and enforces club golf policies, rules, and regulations.
Consults with the General Manager and COO about golf course and practice range operations, maintenance, and rules.
Cooperates with the Golf Course Superintendent about maintenance issues that affect the playability of the golf course.
Represents the club in area professional events including local, state, or national events with the approval of the Golf Committee and the General Manager and COO.
Attends all staff, management, golf committee, and other applicable meetings.
Maintains records relating to player and guest rounds and other statistics.
Plans social evenings and events to promote golf and fellowship among members and guests.
Adheres to all federal, state, and local laws regarding health, safety, and employment.
Assists in the development of short- and long-range plans for improvements to the golf facilities
Attends national and sectional conferences and meetings, merchandise shows, and educational and professional shows to encourage development and to enhance the quality and image of the club.
Assists in supervising and inspecting design improvements and capital outlays to golf facilities.
Interacts with the Food and Beverage Director about food and beverage needs for events.
Maintains visible presence during peak times of play.
Supervises golf play of members and guests from the first tee and maintains starting times according to the club’s rules and regulations.
Provides golf-related information for the club’s newsletter.
Provides for the collection and issuance of all prizes associated with all competitions.
Administers new golf member orientation program.
Ensures clean, safe, and well-organized golf operations and golf shop areas.
Performs other appropriate tasks assigned by the General Manager and COO.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Regularly exposed to outside weather conditions.
Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.
Able to meet and perform the physical requirements and to work effectively in an environment which is typical of this position.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Including, but not limited to, the following:
Education and/or Experience
College degree preferred with a bachelor’s degree in a business-related major or Sports Management.
Five years of work experience as a Head Golf Professional or equivalent work experience as an Assistant Golf Professional at a private club.
Licenses and Special Requirements
Holds Class A Certification through the PGA of America.
Has met PGA criteria for Head Professional.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The club will provide compensation and benefits package commensurate with experience and qualifications. This includes but is not limited to:
Compensation Range: $145,000 - $150,000
Lesson 90%
Bonus Eligible - Up to 10% of Salary
