History
Crane Creek Country Club has a rich history that dates back to its founding in 1963. The club was established by a group of local businessmen and golf enthusiasts who envisioned creating a top-tier private club that could offer exceptional amenities and foster a sense of community. The lush, rolling terrain of the Boise foothills provided the perfect backdrop for the club’s golf course, which was meticulously designed to take full advantage of the natural landscape.
Over the decades, Crane Creek has undergone numerous upgrades and expansions to enhance its facilities and member experience. Notably, the golf course has seen various renovations to maintain its status as one of the best in the region, including updates to its greens, bunkers, and overall layout. The addition of modern amenities such as the fitness center, enhanced dining spaces, and expanded tennis facilities has also been pivotal in attracting a diverse membership and meeting the evolving needs of its members.
Crane Creek is nearing completion of a major new addition including a dining area, fitness center, simulators, locker rooms, and golf shop. The golf shop is projected to be completed in the spring of 2025.
A significant part of Crane Creek’s storied history includes the contributions of its PGA Professionals. Warren "Stoney" Brown, PGA, served the club with distinction for an impressive 28 years. His dedication and expertise helped shape the club's golfing culture, and he was subsequently inducted into the Rocky Mountain Section PGA Hall of Fame. Following in his footsteps, Ron Rawls, PGA, has carried on the tradition of excellence, serving as the club’s PGA Professional for the past 20 years and also earning a place in the Rocky Mountain Section PGA Hall of Fame. Their legacies have left an indelible mark on Crane Creek, reinforcing its reputation as a nurturing ground for golfing talent and community spirit.
