ABOUT COUNTRY CLUB OF NEW BEDFORD

North Dartmouth, MA | The Country Club of New Bedford has had a rich history since its incorporation at its current location in 1902. Tradition comes in many forms at the Country Club of New Bedford, not the least of which is the Annual August Four-Ball Invitational Tournament. A weeklong 6-round member- guest competition with 64 teams, this tournament has attracted quality players from around the country over the years. Billed as the oldest continuously played Four-Ball in the nation, it was first played as such in August 1927. Our Four-Ball remains one of New England's most prestigious amateur golf tournaments. The Women’s Golf Association of the Country Club of New Bedford began their own August Invitational Four-Ball in 1979 with 32 teams participating. This 5 Day tournament was a milestone for women golfers, not only in this area but throughout New England. The Country Club of New Bedford Women’s Invitational Four-Ball Tournament continues to be the leading tournament event of its kind in the region.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Head Golf Professional

Summary: Overseeing Daily Practices, as well as implementing the following responsibilities:

  • To promote all player development at the Country Club of New Bedford.

  • To service the members and their guests with outstanding customer service.

  • Enforce the club’s rules and regulations as outlined by the Board of Governors.

  • Develop and maintain existing members and integrate new members into the fold.

  • Be the face of the Country Club of New Bedford.



ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare and promote member events using the club website, e-mail and social media.

  • Update the website on a daily/ weekly basis including tournament results and photos.

  • Oversee the administration of Men’s and Ladies’ Tournaments.

  • Promote the Men’s and Ladies’ Four-Balls and all other major events.

  • Golf Instruction – Individual lessons, group clinics as well as the administration of all Junior Golf Programs (Spring, Summer and Fall Sessions)

  • Develop and oversee corporate outings.

  • Manage and train the staff with day to day responsibilities involved with Outside Operations ensuring a friendly and enjoyable experience is provided to all members and guests of CCNB.

  • Must have experience in merchandising as well as the sale and display of merchandise.

  • Needs to be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.

  • Play golf with members as time allows.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • PGA/LPGA Member/First Assistant preferred.

  • Minimum of three years as a Head Professional/First Assistant at an Upscale facility.

  • Strong computer skills, and merchandising experience are a must.

  • Knowledge using tournament software programs such as GHIN and P.O.S. systems.

  • Experience with Golf Genius and Club Prophet are a plus.

  • Highly motivated, hardworking and a team player.

  • Service oriented, show attention to detail, have excellent communication skills,

  • Positive and energetic.



COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

  • Compensation based on candidates experience between $85,000 and $105,000.

  • Individual will retain 90% of lesson income and have the opportunity to grow the instruction and Junior Golf Programs.
