AS A CONDITION TO PARTICIPATING IN THE 2025 WINTER CHAMPIONSHIPS, WHICH ARE SCHEDULED TO BE HELD AT PGA GOLF CLUB IN PORT ST. LUCIE, FLORIDA (THE “VENUE”), FROM JANUARY 8-FEBRUARY 18, 2025, YOU (“PLAYER”) AGREE TO THE FOLLOWING:
RULES AND REGULATIONS
The Championship Committee shall be authorized to impose Minor Penalties consisting of a fine of $150 for the first offense, a fine of $250 for the second offense, and a disqualification for a third offense. If a player utilizes a caddie, the player is responsible for Code of Conduct breaches by the caddie under Rule 10.3. Additionally, if behavior is deemed excessively unacceptable the Championship Committee may disqualify a player at any time. Offenses include:
Club throwing, slamming, or breaking
Damage to course equipment or property*
Abuse, oral (profanity) or otherwise directed at rules officials, other players, spectators, sponsors, championship staff, volunteers, or others
Consumption of alcoholic beverages and/or marijuana use (unless pre-approved as a treatment for a medical condition) during practice rounds and/or championship rounds
Listening to music during competition rounds (no headphones)
Failure to adhere to the dress code of both the host facility and the PGA of America
More specifically, at PGA of America Championships:
Hats/visors should be worn with the brim forward
Tank tops, T-shirts, denim shorts, jeans, gym shorts, sweatpants are prohibited
Any other conduct unbecoming of a PGA of America Member
Additionally, the Championship Committee shall have the authority to make decisions and/or establish rules, as in its judgment shall be in the best interests of The PGA of America and the Championship, for any issues not addressed by these Rules and Regulations.
All Code of Conduct offenses carry through the Championship (e.g. First offense during Round 1 could lead to a second offense during Round 2).
In the event the Championship Committee determines that the act(s) warrant a Major Penalty, that player may be subject to an additional fine amount, suspension, and/or permanent disbarment from tournament play.
*Along with potential fines, players may be responsible for covering the costs of any damage they cause to course equipment or property.
Separate Tees/Same Purse Policy – Although competing from separate tees (men from men’s tees and women from women’s tees), men and women professionals shall compete for the same purse. For example, the man or woman professional with the lowest score shall win first place money.
If, during a round, a player uses a distance measuring device to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect his/her play (e.g., gradient, wind speed, temperature, etc.), the player is in breach of Rule 4.3a, for which the penalty is two (2) strokes for the first offense and for subsequent offenses – DISQUALIFICATION.
Player Dress Code
Shorts are allowed during Practice Rounds and Pro-Sponsor events. Shorts must be hemmed not more than two inches above the knee and professional looking in appearance. All attire must be hemmed appropriately for a major professional golf championship and players must present a neat appearance, appropriate for a major professional golf championship. No shoes with metal spikes are permitted during the Championship.
Males: Slacks must be worn during Championship Rounds when on club property.
Females: Slacks, walking shorts, skorts or golf skirts/dresses may be worn when on club property.
REFUND POLICY
The following refund policy has been established for the 2025 PGA Winter Championships.
Withdraw before entry deadline – Entry fee, minus a $25 credit card processing fee will be returned for each event.
Withdraw after the deadline – NO REFUND
SPECTATOR POLICY
Spectators are allowed at the PGA Winter Championships but must adhere to the following spectator guidelines:
Must keep distance from group they are spectating, as well as groups ahead and behind
Must stay on the golf car paths throughout the course
Must walk and not ride in a golf car at any time
Handicap Spectators
Handicap Spectator Cars are available ONLY by presenting a valid and current Handicap Hang Tag to the Championship Office. Championship staff will then provide proper credentials for a Handicap Spectator to rent a golf car from the PGA Golf Club golf shop.
CADDIES
During the PGA Winter Championships, golf cars will be available for players to share during competition rounds (two cars per group). Players are allowed caddies during the Championship, however caddies must walk at all times during Championship rounds. In order to attend and participate in the PGA Winter Championships, caddies must adhere to the following policies and regulations.
Only players will be allowed to ride in a golf car (no caddies or spectators) and only two golf cars will be allowed per group. Unless permitted to ride by The Professional Golfers’ Association of America (The PGA of America) Rules Committee, violation of this golf car rule by the player or his caddie will subject the player to a $100 fine. Player's clubs must remain on the golf car at all times.
Caddies must wear smooth, rubber-soled shoes. No golf spikes of any kind will be permitted.
All caddies are required to present a neat appearance, appropriate to a Professional Golf Championship in both clothing and grooming. All caddies must wear a collared shirt.
Male Caddies: May wear shorts or slacks during ALL rounds of competition. Shorts must be hemmed, not more than 2” above the knee, and professional looking in appearance.
Female Caddies: May wear shorts, skorts, golf skirts/dresses or slacks during ALL rounds of competition. All attire must be hemmed appropriately for a Major Professional Golf Championship.
Failure of any caddie to comply with any aspect of the aforementioned regulations/requirements will result in his/her immediate removal from club property. The PGA shall reserve the right to determine caddie eligibility.
Contestants shall be responsible for the conduct and behavior of their caddies.
CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
This application is subject to acceptance by PGA Tournament Corporation, Inc., in its sole discretion. Applicant agrees that in the event of acceptance of this application, the application and Applicant’s participation in the PGA Winter Championships may be rejected or revoked at any time thereafter for violation of eligibility criteria or any conditions of entry.
Both the application and Applicant’s participation in the PGA Winter Championships are subject to all Rules, Regulations, provisions of the Constitution and Bylaws of the Professional Golfers’ Association of America and other conditions applicable to the PGA Winter Championships, as well as to the terms and conditions of any contract which PGA Tournament Corporation, Inc., may have made with other parties with respect to same.
As a condition of entry for participation in the PGA Winter Championships, the Applicant consents to the recording and/or transmission of his/her voice and image to being filmed, videotaped, photographed or televised in connection with participation in the PGA Winter Championships and any other event conducted in conjunction with the PGA Winter Championships; waives, releases and assigns his/her private rights to the production, reproduction, publication and dissemination of any recordings, transmissions, video recordings, portraits, posters, motion pictures, photographs, images and electronic transmissions which depict the Applicant as a participant in the PGA Winter Championships or any other phase or portion thereof and any other event conducted in conjunction with the PGA Winter Championships to the Professional Golfers’ Association of America, any of its affiliates, subsidiaries, or assigns for all use in connection with:
i) advertising, promoting, or publicizing the PGA Winter Championships or any broadcasts thereof;
ii) radio broadcasts or “live” or “delayed” telecasts or television programs, Internet or other electronic transmissions;
iii) broadcasts or exhibitions on a recorded basis as part of a program, motion picture or video recording of the PGA Winter Championships, or
year-end summaries of sports award programs or any news or sports news programs in any form of media;
iv) live or taped non-exclusive updated; and
v) official lithographs, commemorative yearbooks, portraits, paintings, posters and the like.
Applicant agrees to refrain from any action, which will interfere with the orderly recording, production, reproduction, publication and dissemination of such recordings, transmissions, films, tapes, pictures, photographs, or images.
As a condition of entry all players expressly release and discharge the PGA of America, its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, members, sponsors and the host site from and against any claims for injuries sustained incidental to participating in the event. Players agree that they choose to participate in the event at their own risk and players assume the risk of injury in association with participating in the event.
Applicant agrees that Applicant will not share in any part of the prize money, which Applicant may win in the PGA Winter Championships with any other contestant.
It is a condition of the PGA Winter Championships that shoes with metal spikes are prohibited by the host site. Penalty for breach of this condition is DISQUALIFICATION.
Entry is on a first-come, first-entered basis. If an event becomes full before the deadline date, a waitlist will be established. If you are wait listed, please provide one telephone number that can be used to inform you of your current status.
Please ask for a confirmation number or print the corresponding confirmation email when entering an event. A written confirmation will be emailed to you. Upon receipt of this confirmation, please review it to confirm you have been entered into the correct event and are not entered onto the event waitlist.
