Cleveland, TN | Cleveland Country Club was established in 1924 and has become Cleveland’s premier family country club. Located in beautiful Cleveland, Tennessee, Cleveland Country Club is a full-service, year-round club featuring an exquisitely designed 18-hole, par 72 golf course, six tennis courts, and swimming pool facilities.
The Clubhouse features a gorgeous ballroom, with the ability to accommodate up to 300 guests, 2 private dining rooms, a formal dining room complete with a charming fireplace, and 2 restaurants.
The Course
Our exquisitely designed 18-hole, par 72 golf course provides a unique challenge to the accomplished golfer, as well as accommodating the novice golfer. Complete with a unique two-way driving range, an extra-large practice putting green, and a chipping and pitching green with two sand traps, our facilities are sure to exceed all your expectations.
Cleveland Country Club golf course is open for member play Tuesday-Sunday year-round. In addition to open play, the Club hosts several special events and tournaments throughout the year for gentlemen, women and juniors.

POSITION OVERVIEW
Cleveland Country Club is excited to announce the exceptional career opportunity of General Manager. Qualified candidates will thrive in a hospitality environment and be highly focused on providing superior service for members and their guests.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepares and monitors annual budget, revenue goals and expenses as well as generating various (weekly, monthly, etc.) business volume forecasts.
Monitors monthly and other financial reports/statements on a daily, weekly and monthly basis for the facility and takes effective corrective action when necessary.
Maintains and increases membership satisfaction and retention programs as necessary
Establishes and implements Club personnel policy, initiates and monitors policies relating to personnel actions and training along with professional development programs.
Ensures all Human Resources procedures and policies are followed by management staff.
Develops, maintains and administers a sound organizational plan and initiates improvements as necessary.
Maintains membership with the PGA and/or CMAA and other professional associations. Attends workshops and meetings to keep abreast of current information and developments.
Oversees the care and maintenance of all the facility’s physical assets and each individual facility.
Coordinates marketing programs to promote the facility’s services to potential members.
Ensures the highest standards for food and beverage service on property.
Implements policies and procedures for multiple departments, including compliance of all company standards relating to quality of products and services.
Responsible for interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, and directing work, evaluating performance, rewarding, and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Directly manages department members that may include but is not limited to: Executive Staff: Head Professional, Golf Course Superintendent, Controller/HR Manager, Food and Beverage Director, and the CCC supporting employees.
Assures that effective orientation and training are given to each new associate. Develops ongoing training programs.
Works with CCC BOD committees to assure compliance with the rules of the CCC By-laws and Charter.
CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Including, but not limited to, the following:
Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required
5 years of managerial experience at a member-owned, private club
Ability to learn the culture of CCC; understand, embrace, and execute the Board’s vision and strategy. Work in clear “partnership” with the Board, keeping them actively abreast of results, and showing full transparency.
Ability to bring all of the Club’s departments together with a clear focus on a cohesive team working toward the Club’s goals and mission. Get to know the Senior Staff, evaluating their abilities, and aspirations, ensuring that they and their respective teams have clear expectations and accountabilities in place.
The successful candidate will develop a report to provide the Board with a thoughtful “State of the Club” analysis following ninety (90) days of overview and insight. This document will be part of the ‘roadmap’ to success, staff, plan, budget, and other tactics and strategies for short and longer-term goals and should clearly spell out recommendations and opportunities for future success and sustainability.
The compensation and benefits for this position are commensurate with experience and competitive with similar country clubs in the region. Base salary: $100,000 - $120,000 with a $10,000 bonus potential based on year-over-year performance and KPI metrics.
