Keys to Success: To thrive at CCL, the next General Manager/COO must master these five pillars:
Leadership & Culture: Provide visible, "lead by example" leadership. Maintain the "Family Feeling" for members while fostering professional growth for the staff.
Financial Stewardship: Act as a Chief Operating Officer. Manage budgets, COGS (target 34–36% in F&B), and capital resources with transparency and precision.
Departmental Catalyst: Respect the tenure of current department heads but "push" them to innovate. Avoid repetition by facilitating brainstorming and new programming.
Operational Calm: Maintain a calm and decisive demeanor as a permanent leadership standard, ensuring the club remains a sanctuary of relaxation for members even during the most demanding operational windows.
Service Excellence: Oversee standardized hiring and training protocols across every department to ensure a seamless and elevated member experience.
The "Member-Owned" Feel: Despite being privately owned, the club operates with the intimacy and community of a non-profit club, focusing on the mission of providing an "excellent value" to members.
A Legacy of Reinvestment: Since 2014, ownership has executed a continuous and aggressive capital improvement plan, resulting in a facility with zero deferred maintenance.
Premier Amenities: Significant investments include a state-of-the-art 5,000+ sq. ft. fitness center and comprehensive clubhouse renovations covering nearly every square foot of the facility.
Elite Infrastructure: The golf course has been fully modernized with a new irrigation upgrades and the industry-leading Better Billy Bunker system, ensuring championship playability in all weather conditions.
Forward-Looking Stewardship: This commitment to facility excellence allows the incoming General Manager/COO to focus on strategic growth and member experience rather than playing "catch-up" with aging infrastructure.
Active Expansion: Upon arrival, you will take the helm of our newly renovated aquatic complex. Your immediate priority will be the strategic launch of operations for the brand-new poolside bar and social lounges, ensuring a seamless transition from construction to a premier member experience for the upcoming season.
A Family Culture: From the 300-participant "CCL Crocs" swim team to the signature "JamBaLea" and "Daisy Classic" tournaments, the club is a hub of year-round activity and deep-rooted relationships.
A Dynasty on the Deck: CCL is home to a legendary Swim & Dive program within the storied Country Club Swim Association of Kansas City (CCSAKC).

Fiscal Management: Oversee all financial aspects, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost management.
Member Engagement: Be the "Face of the Club", learning member names and preferences.
Project Management: Oversee the successful integration of the new pool bar and shaded areas into the daily operations.
Team Development: Hire, train, and develop a hospitality team that mirrors the professionalism of the executive management.
Innovation: Work with department heads to constantly innovate and improve offerings, programs, and operations.
Including, but not limited to, the following:
Minimum of 3–5 years of experience as a General Manager in a private club.
College degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
Deep familiarity with Jonas POS or equivalent club management software.
Strong financial acumen and a proven track record of hitting operational budgets.
A high-EQ leader who is approachable, accessible, and committed to long-term community building.
