ABOUT THE CLUB

DALLAS, TX | Established in 1920, Brook Hollow enjoys a strong reputation as one of Texas' most historic and exclusive private clubs. Brook Hollow's Tillinghast golf course, has hosted championships of significance over nine decades including USGA Sectional Qualifying, U.S. Mid-Amateur, Southern Amateur, Trans-Miss Championships, Texas State Amateurs, Texas State Women's Amateurs, Texas Cup Matches, TGA Jackie Burke Cup Matches, NTPGA Joe Black Cup Matches and Senior Women's Invitation Matches. Brook Hollow is scheduled to host the 2023 Trans-Miss Amateur Championship which is now a part of the Elite Amateur Golf Series, a new alliance of seven Majors of Amateur Golf.


Beginning in November 2019 Brook Hollow commenced a total restoration of its golf course under noted golf course architect Keith Foster in order to return it to Tillinghast's original design intent. As part of the restoration of the course itself, a new computer-controlled irrigation system was installed, and the practice range and short game area were totally redone. The end result of the restoration is a golf course that is ranked 3rd in Texas per the Dallas Morning News and is sure to be regarded as one of the very best in the Southwest.

World-class facilities include a sports complex for tennis, pickleball, wellness and swimming, and a famed ballroom in which are presented some of Dallas' most memorable and fashionable social events. During the past 20 years, Brook Hollow has renovated or replaced substantially all of its facilities.

GOLF SHOP

The golf shop provides 1,500 sq. ft. of merchandising space providing the membership with the best merchandise in the industry.

LEARNING CENTER

Our elite Learning Center has two hitting bays, both equipped with state-of the-art technology including: two Trackmans, V1 Video swing analysis, Sam Putt Lab, and Boditrak. Learning center also has its own private Bermuda turf in front of indoor bays.

PRACTICE FACILITIES

include sizeable driving range, putting green, two short game areas, one of which is located next to hole #8. Hole #8 short game boasts a large green, two bunkers, and closely moan green surround as far as 30 yards from the green.



POSITION SUMMARY

As a member of the Golf Operations team, the Director of Instruction at Brook Hollow Golf Club will be responsible for all facets of golf instruction including, but not limited to, seasonal adult programming, private instruction, junior golf programs, club fitting services and conducting any golf instruction functions for members and guests. Working with the Head Golf Professional, this position will seek to learn the members' needs to develop successful programs, foster a high level of golf instruction with consistency in private instruction by all staff, ensure high-quality service levels on property, and maximize club fitting experience and program equipment sales. He or she will build a culture of growing the game of golf for all abilities at the club, while being an industry leader for best practices in golf instruction.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Instruction & Programming

  • Create, budget, schedule and coordinate all adult and junior golfer development programs at Brook Hollow Golf Club.

  • Develop attractive seasonal men’s and women’s golf instruction programming to foster both a recreational and competitive environment as appropriate for each market segment.

  • Work with Head Golf Professional and Director of Communications to ensure marketing, emails and club website are regularly updated with program information and instructional videos.

  • Create a fun, non-threatening learning and playing environment for ladies’ programs at BHGC.

  • Manage and assist with all facets of the junior golf program, including, but not limited to: Spring and Fall programs, summer junior camps, creating an elite junior program encouraging a competitive environment and providing college career guidance for aspiring youth.

  • Perform regular weekly private instruction with organized records of students’ goals, lesson notes, and results.

  • Develop, implement, and promote club fittings and program equipment sales; train other staff instructors as needed.

  • Supervise upkeep of the practice facility and learning center to ensure that safe, clean, organized, and professional conditions exist throughout the day.

  • Maintain teaching aids, instruction equipment, and ensure fitting carts are prepared and organized daily.

  • Utilize state-of-the-art teaching aids and learning theories and be able to integrate the use of all technologies that aid in the learning of golf.

  • Foster a learning culture by attending education seminars and providing new ideas and information to members and staff on golf instruction.

  • Create instructional programs that will provide additional revenue for BHGC Assistant Golf Professionals.

  • Oversee the creation and posting of educational video media instruction content for the members.


Leadership & Relationships

  • Work with Head Golf Professional to foster a fun, healthy work environment, while upholding the excellence and virtues of Brook Hollow Golf Club policies.

  • Play golf on a weekly basis with members, making certain to do so with all ages and skill levels.

  • Train BHGC golf professionals on golf instruction, teaching philosophies, and the management of programs to include clinics, juniors, group, private lessons, player development and special needs lessons.

  • Possess a personality trait that will make people feel welcome, reflecting favorably on BHGC, whether on or off property.

  • Represent the Golf Staff at major functions at BHGC as deemed appropriate by the Head Golf Professional.

  • Represent BHGC in local, regional, and national golf tournaments as determined by Head Golf Professional.

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • The candidate should be energetic, highly personable, self-motivated, with a passion and willingness to go above and beyond to enhance the member experience.

  • Ability to communicate in high intensity work environments.

  • High aptitude in current trends and best practices for golf instruction.

  • Well versed in latest industry leading technologies such as Trackman, SAM PuttLab, Swing Catalyst and Boditrack for club fitting and instruction.

  • Maintain a credible golf game and regularly compete in section tournaments.

  • Fundamental knowledge of the game of golf, rules of golf, golf instruction and teaching methodology.

  • Act as a role model for all employees by demonstrating the behavior and work ethic expected of all employees.

  • Strong organizational, planning, and prioritization skills.

  • Self-motivated with desire to create, promote, and market programs effectively.

  • Ability to work as a team member, cultivating teamwork with other staff members.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and tournament software.

  • Attend conferences, workshops, meetings, and trade shows to keep abreast of current trends in the industry.


EXPERIENCE

  • Class A PGA Member in good standing.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Teaching Professional developing instructional programs at a high level.

  • Proven playing ability with tournament experience.

  • Preferred mentorship and education under industry leading golf instructors or schools .

  • Preferred private club experience.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Lifting, pushing, pulling, loading, or carrying 40lbs or more

  • Moving/driving equipment or motorized golf carts

  • Bending, squatting, stooping, scrubbing, pushing, pulling, stirring, reaching, lifting, sitting, and twisting

  • Outside or exposed to weather conditions over a long period of time

  • Long periods of standing or walking

OTHER

  • May be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the club. Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include weekends and holidays.

  • Background Check, Drug Test and COVID test required.

COMPENSATION

  • 100% of private golf instruction

  • Flat Salary Rate based on forecasted percentage of group programming

  • Performance Bonus
