Position: Director of Golf
Reports to: General Manager/COO
Supervises: Golf Operations Personnel
General Purpose: The Director of Golf is the guardian and administrator of a complex, multicourse, premier golf operation. He/she will be a highly organized administrator with strengths in leading, developing, managing, and executing at the highest level to ensure an effective and efficient operation.
Manage all aspects of a complex golf operation, ensuring the department delivers unequaled service to members and guests
Ensure the Golf Department operates within budgeted guidelines while retaining and delivering exemplary service levels.
Attend monthly Golf and Greens Committee meetings
Review and approve staffing schedules to ensure adequate coverage in all areas of the operation; embrace the established commitment to work-life balance for continued staff retention
Responsible for departmental interviews, employee counseling, annual reviews, and discipline of employees
Conduct weekly staff meetings to review past, present, and future events. Ensure all departments adhere to standard operating procedures and deliver consistent service levels to exceed overall department goals
Arrange and approve all golf events and act as Master of Ceremony for member events, league luncheons, tournaments, and other events
Design and implement a variety of holiday and non-holiday activities for members
Provide a highly qualified instructional staff year-round, including scheduling clinics and schools. Follow trends and remain educated about the latest teaching aids and technologies
Maintain a positive rapport with members, co-workers, and management at all times
Strong diplomacy with the ability to enforce club policies and procedures in a positive, respectful, yet firm manner
Must be a Class A PGA or LPGA Professional
Extensive knowledge and proven record of success managing a high-volume, golf operation at a multicourse facility
4-year college degree preferred
A minimum of 5 years of experience in directing a premier, multi-course operation
Strong administrative, organizational, and time management skills
Superior budget development and financial management acumen
Excellent communicator both verbally and in writing; active and empathetic listener is a must
Proven record of successful staff development, training, and mentorship
Knowledgeable about the South Florida market and a clear understanding of the Boca Raton area
The compensation and benefits package is outstanding. The base salary will be based on qualifications and experience.
Annual bonus based on overall facility performance and individual employee performance
