Join NewFest for this seventh annual showcase of short films that were screened at the 35th annual New York LGBTQ+ Film Festival, following by a Q&A with filmmakers and special guests.
Join us to start exploring gender in a whirlwind of ways. Students will have the chance to work with drag performers and talk about the vast universe of how we express our gender(s), and have the opportunity to do some dress up of their own.
Book banning is a rapidly escalating national crisis that undermines the freedom to read, learn, and think. Award-winning authors Sarah & Ian Hoffman will delve into why most bans target stories about race and LGBTQ+ issues, who’s behind these bans, what’s it’s like being a banned creator, and what we can all do to fight back.
A drag storyteller will demonstrate their makeup process and answer any questions about drag performance.
Within this workshop, join us as we play a Queer-ified version of Jeopardy, testing your LGBTQ+ knowledge and learning LGBTQ+ trivia, history, knowledge, and facts along the way!
