IMPORTANT DATES TO REMEMBER

Nominations for the Gifted and Talented Program by any adult for students in grades K through 5th MUST be returned to the campus counselor by the end of the nomination window listed below.  The last day applications for nomination will be accepted will be on October 31, 2025.

October 1 - 31, 2025 - Kindergarten to 5th grade GT Nomination Window

If you are not sure if you should nominate your child for screening, then please visit with your child’s teacher. 

Definition of Giftedness (TEC.29.121)

“Gifted and talented student” means a child or youth who performs at or shows the potential for performing at a remarkably high level of accomplishment when compared to others of the same age, experience, or environment and who:

1. exhibits high-performance capability in an intellectual, creative, or artistic area;

2. possesses an unusual capacity for leadership; or

3. excels in a specific academic field.
