What is a Makerspace? Makerspaces have popped up in libraries across the world to provide tools and a venue for learners to explore crafts and technologies to which they may not have access at home. A Makerspace at school is a safe and neutral area for students to problem-solve with a growth mindset. There are no grades attached--they are safe spaces to meet new friends and "fail forward" while using logic, having fun and possibly making something for a cause or real life purpose.
PfISD circulates a growing mobile makerspace which currently includes a 3D printer and set of 3Doodler 3D pens so that all students in PfISD can experience designing and realizing their 3D creations. Check with your campus librarian to see when the Mobile Makerspace will visit your student's school!
Ask your librarian about the tutorial and quiz you must complete before using the 3D printer.
Ask your librarian to experiment with building creations with this handheld 3D pen!
