Class overview
I expect every student to be respectful to other students and all staff. Students should come to class with positive attitude and a desire to learn. Our objective will be to meet or exceed state standards.
Parents can best support their students by encouraging respect for school staff, fostering a love for learning, and instilling a desire in students to be successful.
I will strive to create engaging learning opportunities that meet state standards. I will model what it means to be a life long learner. I will care about each one of my students.
Welcome our kitties, Maggie and Daisy!
About me
Hi! My name is Patti Golden. I live in Wichita Falls now, but I grew up in Houston.
I went to a small elementary school. We had the same 25 kids from Kindergarten to 8th grade. I graduated from J.L McCullough High School in The Woodlands. My graduating class had over 450 students! I have a Bachelor's Degree in Management from Concordia University in Austin, a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Midwestern and I took my teaching classes at Midwestern.
I married my college sweetheart, John. We have a son who works in the car finance industry in the Metroplex. We have a daughter who designs and sells commercial kitchens to places like Dunkin’ Donuts, Panera Bread and Chili’s. We have had dogs, but currently we are a cat family. Maggie (Magnolia) and Daisy are about two years old. Riley Cat lis semi-retired as a cat.
I have several hobbies. I like to watch old movies and learn movie trivia. At one time, I taught an afterschool class in classic film. I enjoy playing with our cats. I like to spend time with John and his family, they are very funny people. In my spare time, I swim, dance, sew, read and sleep.
I have been teaching for 20 years. I have taught 3rd, 5th and 6th grades. I have been the Instructional Reading Coach for grades K-5. This is my fifth year at Petrolia. I will be teaching 5th, and 6th grade Reading and Language Arts. As a teacher, I love to see students get excited about reading.
